| My Ebay dilemma -minor irritation need WWYD This holiday season has been a very good one for me with selling but I do have a minor irritation that I can't seem to let go. I sell a lot of mystery boxes on Ebay.. I would say 95% are extremely happy with them as they are packed full with goodies.. If my box has a theme, you only get that theme items.. I do not scam people with thinly veiled wording letting them think they are getting more or something different..I'm pretty upfront with what is in the box.. I will even sometimes add a photo of what is actually in the box . The reason I list some things as mystery box is they get tons of hits & also it's a way of selling something that I might have a large quantity of without going into tons of detail or to consolidate my huge Ebay inventory. Okay.. that's the background!! Some people just don't understand the concept of mystery boxes on Ebay.. according to Ebay rules you must offer a BOX & a box only when you list a mystery box.. anything inside the box is considered a gift.. Yes, that is strange but I have had my EBay mystery box listings pulled for revealing too many items Yesterday I got a positive feedback but in my opinion it was a positive mark with negative undertones.. person bought a mystery box & the auction had a photo of exactly what they were getting. the mystery was I didn't list each item singly. The person left FB saying they were disapointed, they only got what was in the picture!! well DUH!!! what else did you want????? What kind of FB if any should I leave the buyer.. He's got me kinda mad with his words & they might turn off potential buyers even tho it was a positive mark.. I'm evilly half tempted to leave him a neutral or negative as my auction cleary states that I will leave comparable FB for all mystery box auctions.. I did respond to his FB & asked what more did he want & buyers can see that but still.. I'm in a icky mood & am thinking revenge ( I know, I know wrong of me!!) I'm thinking of also not leaving any FB (which some people live & die on!) .. TIA for any advice...

| Wait until tomorrow and then see how you feel, Ann. Lots of times I feel all upset about something, but then 24 hours later it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. I would just not leave any feedback if I were you. If anyone who was bidding on your item were to read the feedback (which they probably don't), they would probably be as confused as you are

| As a fellow ebayer I always read what type (& how many) FB the seller has and gives. If you don't leave any FB then potenial buyers may think you don't follow through. If you decide to leave a neg. wait until the very last day you can leave a FB ( I think it is 90 days). I say this because by then the buyer will have forgotten the transaction and when they notice it will be too late to add further comment. Also you will have had time to think about what you want to write. I'm with you revenge is sweet but I always back down when I need to actually do it. Except once...I waited 60 days, 70 days, 80 days, 85 days and was continually told the items were on their way. At 89 days and several hours I posted four neg. FB for the one seller! They immediately sent me a message through ebay messages saying they did not have the opportunity to fix the situation. All along they communicated through email but then suddenly sent messages through ebay. I never got ANY FB from them and because I had believed their story I lost my chance to claim through paypal. At least your unreasonable buyer got what you promised them! Don't be disheartened. I'm sure you have many satisfied customers who have left wonderful feedback. Honest buyers see through the crap FB! Focus on the next sale and forget this loser!

| I'd go ahead and leave positive feedback; just put something similar to what they sent you - ie - "Thanks for buying; next time please feel free to message me with any questions you may have about specific items that may or may not be included in the mystery box...That way it's not a mystery!" I know it's a little long - but I think it pretty much gets the point across without being toooo snarky. And, he did leave you positive feedback, so just leave the + for him too. He paid you, and he didn't file a complaint or anything, so it is kind of your responsibility to do the same for him.

| I thought feedback was exactly that - a feedback on how well the transaction went. If they paid on time, for how much they were supposed to, then shouldn't they get positive feedback?? If they left a feedback for you that mentions they were stumped about not getting more than pictured, can you just answer that portion of their message with a "Nothing more was promised or inferred"? |
