Advice needed on selling our guitar

Ok I have been trying to find a buyer for our guitar. This way we can have extra spending money for Disney.

I had put it on Craig's list and was offered $200 for it. I almost died. NO WAY!!! Ebay charges you to put things on it now...

Can anyone else offer a place or word of advice on how to sell this thing..

Please help and give me some guidance....

Here is a description:

ESP Axe-50 Brand new Customized with Xbox:Gears of War logo and autographed by Megadeth.

It is even in a hard case.

Please help and give me some guidance....
Even with eBay charges, you do reach a much wider audience as it is the first point of searching for specialty items. Something to consider...

Even though eBay charges, you'll DEFINITELY get more for it there.

I would have no idea what a guitar like that costs to begin with, so I would include that in your ad, wherever you put it. I had great success on Craigslist selling an oak kitchen table and an oak baby crib last summer.

I agree...Ebay will yield you a higher profit. The charges are minimal and you can set it up so that the buyer pays shipping so the auction bid is money in your pocket.

Definitely Ebay. The larger amount of exposure is worth the listing fees, IMO.

I think this is a specialized item that would appeal to specific collectors. Maybe you could do a search on the internet for fan groups of Megadeath or guitars such as these - they might have for sale boards where you can post it.

That's a nice looking guitar. I agree that Ebay would give you a better audience.

Even with the eBay charges, I would still go with them. More exposure, higher
price potential, verified buyers, better protection against scammers, etc.

If you laughed at the $200 offer....you might giggle with glee at a much
larger offer on eBay!

Let us know if you go with eBay and how much you got for it.

What about a store that sells musical instruments? Maybe they sell used equipment.

Ebay is the way to go. My DH has bought (and sold) guitars, amps, straps.... You're better off going through ebay.
