The government is here to help!

I heard on the news that the feds are investigating oil price fixing.
We will have to wait and see what this leads to.

This article also mentions it:
Oil extends decline, prices below $126 a barrel - Examiner.com

we need to to what brazil is doing, they are not dependant on outside sources for oil
i was watching it on one of those news shows
I think they used sugar cane, and richard branson was buying corn for fuel
something like that, it was interesting.
and they have special cars I of course forgot what they were called but chevy made them

Exactly. China has become an ENORMOUS consumer of not only petroleum, but building products as well. Masonry and concrete prices have shot up dramatically, but aren't noticed like the gas prices are. Concrete prices have tripled since 2005.

They are probably using ethanol or gasahol and here most of that comes from corn and drives up the price of corn which drives up the cost of beef and other things. We need to revise corn price supports.

IMO, as long as the government has their fingers in the pies, they'll go through the motions to make it look like they'll do something, but they won't in reality. Why would they hurt their own income to help ours?

Here's the latest on corn prices
Wet spring dampening corn crop hopes - Food Inc. - MSNBC.com

Those were interesting articles EJ - we'll have to hope and see what happens. When I ordered oil in October I paid $2.57/gal - I called today and it is $4.32/gal I just don't believe it is a supply and demand problem. I have nothing to base my thoughts on but I just feel like something is going on that we're not being told about. I hope something breaks it up soon - too many people are losing their homes and we don't need oil prices to make it worse

Meanwhile, the American government is investigating steroids in baseball, and Arlen Specter is making noises about investigating the spygate scandal in football.
