New Cell phone or replace current battery. About This Page:

I am not sure which one I want to do. I like my current phone but the battery will no longer take a charge. A new battery is $29.99.

My contact ran out 3 months ago so I can change companies or shut of my phone without any cancelation fees which is nice to know. It also makes me eligible for a free phone with instant rebate, but that would require signing up with a 2 year contract. and of course no need to purchase a battery. Which means no cost at all, which I would have with buying a new phone.

Which would you do?

I think you should upgrade, because if you purchase the battery for $30 and then a few months later your phone dies or has issues(since your out of warranty) you would be out the $30 and still have to upgrade..

If your happy with your current provider than upgrade with them, if not I would reccomend looking at the other companies, since your out of contract you can do whatever you want

Were you considering doing without your cell service to save money? If so, then I'd just buy the battery and hope everthing holds up.

If you know you want the cell service, then I'd upgrade the phone for free and sign another 2-year contract.

I vote for a new phone too. We had a credit towards a free phone with the rebate from Verizon, I was in desperate need of a new phone since my DS took a bite onto my screen and messed it up. After we recieved the rebate in the mail, my new phone cost us a total of $4 and some change for tax. I love my new phone and loved the price even better! Good luck deciding!

Thanks guys!!! I was thinking about the fact that if my phone goes, I may still have a problem if the phone goes. I think I will check other plans too, though I am pretty sure I will stick with T-Mobile, I find they cost the less overall.

I was thinking of canceling the plan at one point, but I do call in shifts for Disney which I need the phone for. And being single, I feel much safer on the roads and when I am out and about.

I've been very happy with T-Mobile. Just remember to ask for everything you want - new phone at no cost. If they don't provide, just let them know you're shopping around for a new carrier if you can get a free phone. In other words, negotiate!

Dh bought the new battery and his phone STILL didn't hold a charge. It was old. Now we switched plans, all got new phones and are very happy. SO get the new phone!!
