| Marvelous May Welcome everybody to the month of May!!! I almost forgot to start a new thread but while I am wasting time at the airport waiting for my roomie for the Decade of Dreams, I figured I do something productive. Hope everyone has a good month. Mine is startng off a little expensive, but it is all budgeted for. ![]()

| Thanks Dawn! May is going to be pricey for me: Mother's Day, three birthdays (two "major" and one kind of "minor," expense-wise) and also trying to get some things checked off my list for our upcoming trip in June.

| Mine has started out well. Just got done spending about $100 on last minute stuff for our trip. I have to say though, I'm so glad I haven't used credit for one bit of our trip and we have cash for spending! I'm proud! Any month that starts out with a WDW trip is a good month in my book

| Wedding planning still has me in the "spending" mode, yuck. My Fiance and I are trying to make up for it. The bad part about living in hawaii, always something to do , and very little of it's cheap Good luck to all who are saving this month!

| I'm back on board for May. Dh and I had a heart to heart last night to discuss our spending habits, and starting today we are sticking to our budget, and are planning to not use a single credit card for the entire month (with plans to extend this to the rest of the year)... Today is a $0 day for me

| Yesterday I had my once-weekly lunch out - $7 at Panera. Then last night I went to see a play with my BFF who is going into her 9th month of pregnancy. $4 for dinner (YAY Cookout! ) and $10 for tickets (YAY student discount and YAY UNC for putting a 12/2010 "expiration" date on my student ID for no apparent reason other than to get awesome discounts [I graduated in '06 ]). Spending time with her was awesome Then $26 on a full tank of gas.

| Yesterday I spent $70 on DH for our anniversary May 11th. We are going cheaper on Mother's Day and our Anniversary this year. Today DD and I are staying home so no $$ should be spent.

| Friday (5/1) - I stopped at Walmart to pick up cold medicine, eye drops (I have another stinking cold) and envelopes. I ended up getting these things, plus some sandwich things, some pop tarts (they were on sale and I was feeling sorry for myself), some pasta and 3 hanging flower baskets for my front garden (the flowers really brightened my day). I ended up spending $73. How does that always happen. Sat (5/2) - I shopped at Costco today for groceries and DH's birthday present - $176. We also went out for dinner for his birthday - but DM was with us and insisted on paying. I am hoping to stay on the wagon this month.

| Yesterday was a little pricey (and not budgetted for), but TOTALLY worth it. My travel-lovin' husband is stuck with a DW and DS who only want to go to Disney anymore, so Bob tends to flip over opportunities to experience the "other" in our little suburban haven. So, yesterday we went to a Korean barbeque place (where we felt like fish out of water because we'd never been to one before) and then followed it up by going to a massive Asian food market. We had a blast looking at all the cool foods and ended up buying a few things (even some bento boxes!!) It was $100, but my hubby was very happy afterwards. ![]() Eileen

| $107 on groceries yesterday. Today will be pricey - I'm going shopping after work for upcoming birthdays/Mother's Day.

| This was an expensive day to play hookie from work! I ended up ordering some great summer clothes online -- albeit with some awesome coupons and free shipping. ($200) I got a swim suit, bras and underwear, capri pants, and lots and lots of cute tops. I can't recommend enough taking the time to pull up another browser and googling the store name and "Coupon" or "Promo code" -- that trick has saved me so much money over the years! Then I had to order a part for my old Hoover Floormate (hard surface floor cleaner) -- luckily, after spending tons of time trying to decide if I should fork over $100 for a new unit, I decided to just replace the parts AND I found a place that had a promotional code! ($39) Eileen
