| Mortgage Refinance - We are closing Today! I am very excited that we are refinancing our mortgage and closing on it TODAY!! I tried to refinance about 6 months ago and was told that we would not qualify for a new loan on my husband's salary.  I was laid off over 1 year ago. Although my husband makes a decent salary, our total income was cut in 1/2 when I lost my job. Although we had great credit (average score about 790), I was told that my husband just does not earn enough!  Recently there was an article in the local paper that recommended refinancing so I decided to try again.I called up my mortgage company again and this time spoke to a great loan officer that took all my information and thought we would have no problem qualifying. Everything has gone very smoothly and today is finally the day of our closing!! We are consolidating our mortgage (old rate 6.99%) and home equity loan (interest rate of 7.5% - we will never take out a HEL again, it was a big mistake for us!) into the new loan. We are closing at 5.125%. Altogether, we will be saving about $300/month.

| Thanks! I know that others have gotten better interest rates, but we were happy with the mortgage company so we decided to stay with them. We were always able to pay our mortgage without a problem, but we also can use that extra $300 each month. The best news is that our first payment is not due until 8/1 and we didn't have to make our June payment yet so we have 2 months with no mortgage payments!! For June and July, we are going to send our normal mortgage payment amount to Disney Visa instead.
