| Today probably should have been a $0, but I spent $7 on lunch. I just could not eat another Lean Cuisine or peanut butter/banana sandwich. Tomorrow will be a little 'spensive as I'll probably try to knock out all those birthday gifts, as well as get gas and maybe go eat.

| Yesterday was $18 for pizza for dinner. Didn't get home from work till almost 8, so there was no way I was cooking. Today was $3 for a bagel and coffee. And it was payday! ![]()

| We got the call from the gastro doctor -- the diagnosis of Celiac Disease is a definite now. As one last "Gluten Gluttony" dinner, we went to IHOP at my DS's request -- $30 Now I have to start figuring out how to afford to replace some of our kitchen stuff (wooden cutting boards, toaster/toaster oven, old plastic storage stuff, and some cast iron pans **sniff!**) Then I'll have to deal with buying a pasta attachment for my KitchenAid standmixer and one or two other items I'll need to defray the long-term costs of having to buy gluten-free items at Whole Paycheck (or... Whole Foods.) I'd rather make stuff from scratch than have to buy and taste-test GF items I bet he'd find disgusting. Darn, darn, darn. I was so hoping I'd be able to avoid this for my son -- it would've been easier on him and easier on my budget. Eileen

| Eileen Having just knocked back two - yes two margharitas - I `d better post something sensible. $12 on food yesterday. Today was $3. We seem to be spending less having no kitchen - typical! However once the final bills come in for it - I don`t think we`ll spend at all!

| ![]() for your budget and for the boy, Eileen! ![]() DH and I are on major lock down mode on the finances. We are house hunting. The down payment is taken care of so now it's just saving for the stuff we'll need after we move in. $21 at Wal-mart for dog food and snacks.

| Eileen, I'm so sorry - for your family and especially CJ!Today was the opposite of a $0 day! I went shopping - $181 on clothes at Belk - I got 10 different items, mostly jackets/tops/skirts for work. My receipt said I saved $784!!! I got one jacket that was originally $178 for $19.20. I'm thrilled - I was already kind of stressing about this fall - all of my suits from last year are too big, and I have to have them during fall recruitment. I put that stuff in the car and then went back in to look for bathing suits (what I had gone in for in the first place - they were 50% off). I bought two and a pair of board shorts, but may return one of them. $130 for that. Between all my purchases, I earned $50 in "Belk Bucks" - money to be used next week towards any purchase. I also ended up getting a $37 refund. I had bought a pair of shoes a couple of months ago and the strap on one broke. Then onto Barnes & Nobles for a gift, $13 (university faculty/staff gets 10% off). Another gift at Bed Bath & Beyond - $14. Into Gap for yet another gift - found some stuff on the sale racks for me too (pair of dress shorts, pants, two shirts) and the birthday gift - $62. Then a kid's meal at Chick-fil-a - $3. Tip at dinner tonight - $3. Whew. At least I got a lot of my "errands" done - one more birthday gift and cards for everyone (Hallmark is under construction or I would've gotten them today).

| for Eileen and your family. Dawn on the house hunting! Scarlett on the bargains!I've been lazy on posting of recent. Not because I haven't saved $$$$, just that the summer is winding down and I'm trying to squeeze some more time in with the kiddos before they go back to school. The only thing I've spent $$$ on this past week was groceries and that was $64 and $36. I'm still slightly overbudget for the month, but have made up serious ground from the overage that occurred when we had family in town visiting. I'm also taking the kids on a road trip to visit my parents at the end of this week, so I should only have snack and gas money for the 4 day visit as Mom has a fabulous vegetable garden that we will use to cook some homemade goodness.

| Yesterday I took all my nieces and nephews to the pool for the day - I have no idea what our lunch tab was (I forgot to sign it when I left) - maybe $35? I tipped the snack bar girl $3 as well. Dinner last night - $27 with tip. It was $1 beer night, so that included 6 beers! Wal-Mart for a few groceries and birthday cards - $24. Tank of gas - $30. Today I'm riding out to a friends for a birthday cookout (I'm bringing salad and brownies, part of last night's groceries). Should be a $0 day.

| We spent $80 at The Wal Marts (thanks, Pioneer Woman -- I can't think of it any other way now) on stuff like storage containers and some gluten-free flours. Then we had to grab lunch because someone's blood sugar was tanking-- and it wasn't the diabetic, but, rather, a cranky mommy! ($20)I dropped some funds online for new kitchen equipment ($99) and am contemplating a new breadmaker. Two wonderful PassPorters had sent me theirs (thanks, ladies), but I'm reading up on GF breads and realizing that I might need some extra features that these lack. Best Buy has a sale right now and the one that's highly recommended for GF breads is $100 -- with the cost of pre-made GF breads at $5-6 a loaf, I'd make that money back quickly. I still have some more shopping to do today, but I've been squirreling this money away for a while while I waited for the dx. The big bummer is that they want him to avoid milk for a stretch too, just to let his innerds heal. Blech... Eileen
