| Aggravating August for us! We have to pay - all relating to work on the kitchen - the builder - kitchen showroom - tiler and the rest of the electricians bill. There will be other related expense as well. The good news is yesterday was $7 for food for two days. Just as a trip down memory lane - aggravate was a word my mother used alot when we were kids - as in don`t aggravate me

| Aggravating August for us! I hope you don't mind, but I am joining this group........I am determined to save, save, save! Since I haven't worked all summer, our savings account has been slowly disappearing. Our quick and spontaneous trip to California pretty much wiped out our cruise savings......and if we don't sell the house by the end of this month, I have to cancel the cruise! Soo.........I agree with Aggravating August!

| I'd like to join too! Main goal is to save enough to fly to WDW again in 2011 since we liked it so well last summer. But also to have a little left over so we can also stay at WL once more - we definitely got spoiled! I would have to vote for "aggravating" August. I only work part time, but my hours are greatly reduced during the summer. Unfortunately, that's when a lot of things come up - Mother's Day, Father's Day, both my grandparents birthdays, my dad's birthday and dh's birthday. I do have $400 saved right now that didn't get spent in Gatlinburg last month, but I'm afraid I'll have to dip into that to make up for what I've been charging ... But here's to a new school year, when regular hours begin again!

| OK, I fell off the wagon mid July. We had lots of unexpected expenses (2 tires for my SUV - $275, 2 tires plus new brakes and rotors for DH's car - $630), plus a 3 day vacation + outlet mall shopping that totally destroyed our budget. August needs to be alleviating. So today started good - the girls had swimming lessons that are already paid for, no other money spent, so $0 today......

| I hoping August won't be too bad - we have a beach trip planned, but the accomodations (and a lot of the food) will be free. Today was kind of pricey - I had a ton of errands to run. $31 on gas, $18 at Hallmark (with a $2 coupon), stocking up on cards, $17 for a birthday gift for my friend's baby's 1st bday, $21 on a pair of jeans and a tshirt (the tshirt was free with the purchase of the jeans), $3 on a kids meal for lunch and $20 on dinner. Whew. Tomorrow I have to pick up some pictures I had developed and we're going out to dinner for my grandma's birthday.

| I have to pay bills, but a big paycheck I was expecting to arrive Friday will not be here until Monday -- so they will have to wait. I spent the day cleaning out my office and getting it ready for a HUGE writing project that I hope will take me in a new direction, career-wise. It took a few hours, but didn't cost a cent and looks great. However, in my sorting through odd bits of paper, I found a note I'd made about a book I really need. I couldn't find at my library, but, luckily, I found it for $24 at the author's website. Good thing too because it's going for $141 on Amazon! Eeeep...) I'm hoping tomorrow will be $0. Eileen

| Yesterday was a little pricey as we went to Philly to see Elton John and Billy Joel. I am going to hold out for Alleviating August, even though we have several expenses coming up. My goal is as many $0 days as possible, starting with today! ![]()

| $14 for food in the supermarket last night. All Dsis`s fault she called and suggested we have a walk out and I bought luxury food items (olives, prawns and cherry cake) that we could have lived without. Went for a walk today, DBIL bought my tea and cake and paid the bus fare home - though I did offer

| Hi all!! Back on the saving wagon - although spending for the wedding has kicked into high gear. How do you save $$ to reduce debt when you are spending lots of $$ on a wedding??? Add to that spending almost $2,000 on the ship (excursions, shopping, non-alkeehol drinks from the bar (bad Terri!!), photos!). It was all budgeted for - but ouch none the less. I booked a flight and hotel room in Fort Lauderdale on my birthday weekend - but not for my birthday - but a friend's baby shower. $5.00 to SW airlines for TSA fees (the ticket is a reward's ticket) and the hotel is free too (got to start using all those Hilton Hhonors points). I will have to pay for the rental car though - which currently is estimated at $70.00. With regard to Aggravating or Alleviating - I would prefer the latter, but am afraid it will likely be the former!

| August isn't starting well with taking DS to Chuck E Cheese on Friday then to the movies today. The end of the month won't be much better with the Disney trip, but at least that's budgeted for.
