Priceline Question

Well does Priceline really work for rental cars? My brother uses it all the time with good results. any advice. My main concerns are getting a good company and how far for the airport. We are flying in to San Fran.

Priceline usually uses weekly rates, so it's not always better if you are doing a short term rental. I have only used it in cities where I know the companies are at or near the airport. I found the rates reasonable although not the bargains I have gotten for hotels.

I have found my best rates when I do a last minute deal. I'll make a reservation and then go back on line a day or two before i leave and see if I can get a better price. I hace reduced the cost by about 1/3 doing this. Of course it doesn't work if you are traveling during a high tourism time.
