I haven't been on in a bit - too busy lately - but I haven't done well in the no-spend department this week.

I bought Sarah a coffee and muffin at DD on Monday - she had testing, so she needed a little caffeine jolt. Did some of our usual eating out since we were out of town at dinner time due to dance - can't remember how much - but I think it was McD's this time.

Amanda came home on Thursday (she heads back to her house this afternoon). Since none of us got home from work till 6:45 pm - we went to Grandma's kitchen for their fish fry - $60 for 4 including tip.

Friday I had to work - was supposed to spend $5 for lunch at our PD day - but ended up doing grade specific work at the other school - so I popped home instead - free!!! Of course - John took the girls out to breakfast, ??? on $ spent. Jennie arrived home for the long weekend around 6 pm - and we had to immediately head out to Sarah's dance class - so we ended up at Scorpio's in Lancaster (pizza place next door to dance) while she danced - 4 meals (we got Sarah's to go) were $50 including tip. Luckily - there were leftovers to send to work with John today. (He didn't come with us - he worked last night)

Got Sarah's costume bill for the upcoming competition/recital season - 7 costumes and tights for a total of $428. Didn't have to pay it yet - but will in November. OUCH! It is budgeted though - I am a sucker for a happy, healthy child!

Today and tomorrow should be zero dollar days. I've already started cooking to give the girls their favorites. Amanda heads out this afternoon, and I take Jennie back on Monday.

Monday will be pricey - Jennie wants/needs to go shopping for a dress for her recital concert, and she needs "teachery" clothes for her new job as a piano teacher 4 days a week. Since I'll have Sarah (shopaholic) with me - it's going to be a spendy day.

Deb - hope your cold gets better quickly - OTC meds are so expensive - and the bottles keep getting smaller and smaller!! I'm up to over $10 for a bottle of Delsym, and the size has gone down to 3-4 oz rather than 8 oz. GRRR.

I managed to resist hitting the "purchase" button on a book order yesterday -- two authors DS loves came out with new books, plus the third in a series I've been reading came out... AND I had a coupon that was soon to expire. But I popped over to my library's site and saw that they had one of the books my DS wanted and the one I wanted.

I cancelled the purchase and walked away from the laptop....

Way to go Eileen!

I pulled up to my regular cappuccino place and it was closed yesterday morning! They open at 7 and I usually stop by at 7:15, so maybe they were running late. I went through McD's instead - $4 - not as good and more expensive for the cappuccino. I was surprised at work to find out I was on lunch-duty - which I love because I get to leave an hour early - but it means I have to cover the office at lunch. I ran out before 12 and got Chick-fil-a - $5. And $1 towards the tip for pizza.

I ended up spending $199.99 at the grocery store today ... I guess I should be happy it was under $200 but it was still waayyy over budget especially if you add in what I spent yesterday. I had to stock up on a lot of stuff and got my halloween candy so I guess it wasn't too bad.
Nick asked if he could sign up for indoor soccer this season so now I've got to figure out how much it's going to cost... I'd rather spend the money on something that promotes exercise rather than more video games though.

Okay... for all my self-denial the other day, I ended up ordering $30 in book this morning. Bad, bad girl...

Then I went to Sam's Club and spent $80.
Then I went to went to Walmart and spent $80
Then I went to Target and spent $100

Only the Sam's Club was budgeted -- but the others were part of the pantry remodel, so a necessary expenditure.

Still, I'll have to be very good for a little while now.

I've lost count!! Today was expensive - took Jennie back to Keene, and had to go shopping for a recital dress that she has in 3 weeks.
DD on the way for breakfast since they got up late - $10
Late lunch at Panera Bread - $20
Kohl's - they had nothing in Jennie's size, except fuzzy pjs, but Sarah found plenty of "needs" - and I bought a pair of work pants - $80
BJ's - stock up on needs and Halloween candy - now I need to keep John and Sarah out of it - $100 budgeted

Concord mall - BIG bust - JC Penney let Jennie down - she's always been able to find something there for formal wear - but they had nothing bigger than a 14, even in the misses/women's section. So - I had a SAD older daughter - nothing in Sears or Lane Bryant either (she hates to shop there - being on the cusp of plus size - their clothes do not appeal to a 19 year old) Went to her old standby - Old Navy - they do stock 18s on a regular bases - and she didn't even want to look - ended up buying a pair of pants for her to wear to work, and several tops and a water bottle for Sarah once again. $45

After everyone had lunch - there were some slightly better moods - and Jennie deigned to go "look" at Dress Barn - they didn't have many dresses at all, but Jennie did find a pretty brownish black formal dress to wear - it's short rather than long, but it'll work. Dress, necklace and earrings to match, 4 pr of socks (theey had music socks!) and a scarf - $90 and finally a happy girl.

Off to Keene - and Michaels. Got a bunch of craft supplies I needed for school this week - we're making scarecrows, and I'm starting a new "STARR" student program, so needed star beads and jars for each class. $20

Then Target - Finally got Sarah her lunch bag, Jennie needed a mirror for her room and more mech. pencils (which she left in the car at my house!), another shirt for Sarah - said no to the shoes she wanted (she's got way too many already!) - another $45.

Last stop - iparty - got Sarah 4 pairs of "nerd" glasses for her group's Halloween costumes, and a big plastic music decoration - giant treble clef and notes - for Jennie's dorm room - $12.

Saturday spent $4 on lunch and $25 on dinner and tip. Yesterday was $11 on lunch. I was housesitting for my sister all weekend and she forewarned me that the pantry/fridge was empty - she wasn't kidding - all I could find to eat were Ritz crackers and an obscene amount of Halloween candy. I ate out for all meals - luckily she left me a $20 for my trouble.
