Holy cow! Totally missed the new month come in! I cannot believe June is over! Hope everyone is continung to save and work towards being debt free! June started off expensive and endd just as bad but didn't hurt the savings too bad. Back on the wagon for me!!!!
Yesterday was $5. at Haagan daaz for a Baileys Shake. $26. at Barnes and Noble for my Mothers Birthday gift. $5.30 at the Disney Store for a water bottle that was on clearance.
As some of you know my mother recently passed away. Well I was beneficiary on a life insurance policy and while it isn't a ton of money I decided instead of heading to WDW for a blowout trip I would pay off some debt. I'm paying off my car and my 2 largest balance cc's. My mom would want me to be responsible and do what I'm doing with the money (although she would give me a hard time for having as much debt as I do as she lived debt free) It will clear up around $600/month in payments which I plan to turn around toward my last 3 credit cards and hopefully bank some money toward a down payment on the car I will have to buy in December 2011 when my dd gets her drivers licence and she gets our current car.
Yesterday I spent $5.71 at Wawa on milk, a slurpee and a chipwich for dd.

Kris, once again, I am so sorry for your loss!
I think it is great you are working on getting your debt under control! Your mom would be very proud of you!
I was very lax about posting last month. Probably, because it was a tough month financially for us! We had a lot going on and even though we knew it was coming and had put aside the money for all events and things....it was hard to see it in black and white!
Anyway....July will be a quieter month for us. (I think)
Although it started out with a bang! Yesterday was our anniversary, so dh brought me roses and took me out to eat, on top of buying me a Disney Dooney and Bourke purse! So....I don't think I will post yesterdays total!
Today I am taking a couple of things back to Kohl's, so I will get about $45.00 back from returns.
I do need to get some chemicals for the pool today. So I can estimate that those will cost us about $25.00.
Hopefully that will be all today!
Have a great July everyone!
Another one who was lax about posting last month! This month isn't going to be much better since we'll be on vacation for two weeks! Yesterday was $14 at Children's Place for some clothes for the kids.
I was bad about last month too! But this month we have ALOT of big expenses coming up, and DH is still unemployed, so I have to be very careful in the day to day stuff. 2 cars need work and inspection, I need contacts, our patio pavers need repair, both dogs need vaccines, we have a wedding, we had a tree branch fall that needs to be cleared away, out downstairs bathroom needs repair...
So on we go!
Started Thursday with $20 to stock up on some great sales at the grocery store. I did a HUGE food shop on Sunday but wanted to take advantage of some sales before they went away. Yesterday was $20 on dog and cat food. I also got the oil changed in my car and used the guy we take our ambulances to, so only $27! And its one thing off the lengthy list. Today we are going to the Farmers market. Thats in the budget, though.
Yesterday was shopping day! The girls and I went to a few stores.
Old Navy: 3 pairs flip-flops plus one to donate to servicemen (don't know much about it, but buying the flip-flops gave me a 10% discount on my whole purchase), plus 3 stainless steel water bottles and a ball of 50 or so ponytail holders - $19.
JC Penny: Funny, we were there just to walk from Old Navy to the Car, but we ended up shopping there instead of Kohl's: 5 pairs shorts/capris, 6 t-shirts/tanks - $103.
Target: Swimsuit for me, underwear for 2 of us, bras for 1 of us, LOTS of sunscreen (we're out and we're heading to WDW in a couple of days), some toiletries, and some hair remover - $120.
Not a bad day, but I hate to KNOW I've spent that much on stuff.
I have to get my spending back under control. It's been a rough couple of several months This month started poorly what with a road trip and a stop over in New Orleans and all, but now I'm home and it's time to tighten the belt again. Today was $300 at the grocery store, but some of that is starting our hurricane supplies (read: better pantry management) and should set us up for at least a couple of weeks of staples. I do have a few larger purchases I have to make this month, but it has to happen. Hopefully, I can make it less painful by cutting back on the crazy stuff.
All the kids are home (my 4 girls) so its been expensive. The oldest 3 have cars (thanks to mom & dad) and we pay for the insurance, although they pay for gas. They have jobs so at least I am not shelling out for spending money, except for the youngest, 16 year old. 22yr DD and I are on Weight Watcher, so we have been buying lots of good food for the whole family. I don't want to go out to eat, as that is too tempting for me, so we have saved money having ALL meals at home. This week spent $98 at Disney.com getting 4 nieces/nephews with birthdays custom hoodies. My DD turns 23, my sister turns 45, my DNiece turns 21 this month. Yikes! 7 birthdays! We are going camping for 4 days starting Thursday. NYS campsite is only $62 total. Our only expense will be food to cook.
Hey I just started a budget, can I join??? We are following the Dave Ramsey plan so Im keeping track of all my expenses. Yesterday I had to pay car taxes so that was a yucky expense...now Im putting a small bit aside each month so next year when my $1200 tax bill comes in, I will be ready! September is going to be tough as we will start getting the Parent Plus Loan for my daughter's first year in college, but Im hoping that with a budget, we can do it!!
