OK, just signed up for mint.com and realized how much I miss the Passporter challenges, so I'm back! This last year has been a whirlwind of expenditures with building a new house, moving, holidays, etc. Couple that with any raise being eaten up with increased taxes/insurance costs and my paycheck shrunk this month. I have GOT to get my hands around this as my pocketbook has been a sieve.
So, starting with today:
1/11: $152 groceries
$32 oil change
1/7 - $30.00 at the grocery store (need)
1/8 - $25.00 on Amazon for cruise-stuff (need)
1/9 - $30.00 for name change certificates - DS got his name legally changed to Dutch (what we've always called him) - so we had to pay for that. (need)
1/10 - $5.00 for lunch (want)
1/11 - $2.00 for a snack (want)
Welcome back Graygables!!
1/11: Kind of an expensive say.
Target: $66.01 for a few needed items, though food scale is going to be exchanged, grabbed wrong scale. I wanted a scale that was almost $20. cheaper.
Best Buy: $10.61 (want)
Russo's ( produce store) $29.36. (need)
Stop & Shop: $28.62 (need)
1/11 - $21 on chinese food
1/12 - $13 on a book at Barnes and Noble, $22 on lunch/dinner at a local coney island, and $130 at Bed Bath and Beyond (I bought the Ninja system - with 20% off and a $50 gift card the normal $220 appliance became $130!)
I am going to try to record most of our expenses, however I do not always knows the DH's purchases.
1/1 - dog food and dog bones (need) $56.15
1/2 - Grocery store (2 belated Christmas gifts) $34.08
Grocery Store 4 gallons of milk, stamps, gas for car (need)
1/3 - Sam's Club - $25.86 (need, except for the fountain drink)
1/4 - Coffee and donut $1.98 (total want)
1/4 - Meijer for groceries $278.32 (need)
1/5 and 1/6 - $0
1/7- donut and coffee $1.98
1/8 - gas $54.65
1/9 - donuts and coffee to share on trip to conference $6.37
1/10 - lunch due to poor morning planning $12.58
1/11 - diet coke and snack while driving to out of town meeting $2.98
1/11 - Meijer - groceries (need/want) $52.76
So, what I have noticed in tracking my expenses is we are buying a TON of milk. Our DS can go through a gallon in 2 days. And I am filling my gas tank less often now that I set my cruise control to 70 miles an hour.
While I have stopped by to buy coffee and donuts a couple of times, I have not visited the vending machine at work to get a mid-day diet coke; instead I am making tea and adding it to ice.
1/12:$39.83 at JCPenney for a Christmas tree. It was the display and was regularly $425. So got a good deal. (want) $1.99 amazon for game for my kindle (want).
1/13: $53.11 refunded from Target for food scale. Had gotten the wrong one. $38.93 for new scale and brace for my elbow. (need) $7.48 for wendy's for lunch (want) $18.58 at grocery store (need)
1/14: $4.50 at the bakery (want), $11 at the pharmacy (need), $17 at a fast food joint (want; I was going to cook but DH and I are both so I didn't feel like it), $26 on dog stuff (need), $$$ on clothes (need; still ouch!)
