Disney visa rewards

Can anyone tell me more about the reward dollars? I can not find anything about how you spend them or what they are worth. It said you earn one reward dollar for every $100 charged. So does that mean the reward dollars are the same as cash and it has a value of only $1. That seems like a lot of charging to get anywhere.

Thanks!

Re: Disney visa rewards

You have to order your (free) rewards card, and transfer your rewards points to the card. The card expires at the end of the year, and the points will need to be transferred.

I have 50 or so points right now that I am able to use, but I don't want my card yet so I'm banking them all up for Disney stuff!

You can spend them at the Disney Store and at WDW and other places.

Re: Disney visa rewards

A good way to build up points is to use your card for things that you would buy anyway, paying your cell phone bill, groceries, gas stuff like that, that way you are at least getting a little something for things that you have to pay for anyway.

Re: Disney visa rewards

We use our card to charge everything. On our trip in May, we had $320 reward dollars, which we accumulated over a year. They also sometimes run promotions where you get double or triple dollars if you charge a certain amount on certain things (usually gas, utilities, food, etc.). It’s pretty typical of reward cards, although there are a few that offer 2%.

Re: Disney visa rewards

The most lucrative charge card we've found is the GM card that allows you to earn money toward a new car. You get 5% of your purchases on the card put in an account toward the purchase of a new car. We've bought three cars using these points and have saved around $6000 on those cars with the card.

We also have the Disney Visa (1%), Marriott Visa (3% on Marriott purchases and 1% on everything else), and a Cash Back rewards card (1%). We take turns using these cards depending on our needs.

Re: Disney visa rewards

You can spend your reward dollars at the Disney Store, Disney store online, at any Disney resort, theme park, etc.

My DH and I each have a Disney Visa. When we went last October, we had $150 in combined Disney rewards that we used toward the purchase of our theme park tickets at the Disney store. And of course I used my Disney card so I could get more points!

Here is what my brochure says:

Disney Dream Reward Dollars are good for most disney merchandise, park tickets, hotel nights, food at more at: Disneyland, and Walt Disney World Resorts including Theme Parks, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store, Disney catalog, DisneyStore.com, Disney Interactive, Disney magazine and FamilyFun, Disney Movie Club by Mail, Walt Disney Collectors Society, Disney on Ice

If you have a Disney Visa, call the customer service # on your statement and ask them to send you some info on the rewards. That might be helpful.

We use our Visa for groceries and gas or for any big purchases to get more points.

Re: Disney visa rewards

A tip: If you happen to forget to call to order your Rewards Card until two days before you leave for Disney World and find out it takes two weeks to arrive......
You can go to Guest Services in Downtown Disney! They will give you a card, you then call Disney Visa, and they will transfer your Rewards onto your card!

Re: Disney visa rewards

Looking up points: go to the cardmember page at BankOne.com and login. Then you can look up your rewards page and see how many points you have available to transfer to a card.
