Shipping items to our OKW resort to arrive the day we get there
We have to fly to WDW for our stay, which the duration is just at a week.
With all the flight regulations lately, does anyone ever ship things like their shampoo, laundry soap, personal ammenities to their resort instead of packing them? Or buying them at the resort?
It would make a world of difference, so that our family could have the stuff they need to get them thru the week. My family is sooo picky about the items they use, and prefernces are stubbornly solid.
The sample bottles of things will not get us thru the week, and Im trying to minimize my "grocery" purchases while im at our resort.
In December, we shipped a lot of stuff to BC via UPS. Mark it :Hold at Desk with your resevation number. They'll deliver it to your room after you check in
We've done it a number of times on our early trips, to send diapers, wipes, snacks etc. We just sent it to our attention at the resort, and put our ressie number on the front as well. We sent it UPS, so I could track it and make sure it got there before we did (I sent it to arrive a day or two before we did)!
You know, I used to think that was crazy, but now I am all about shipping stuff to the resort! When we go down in April, I'm shipping alot of stuff so we'll have more room in the suitcases. It just makes sense. Who wants to worry with buying that stuff when you get there?

Eh, I've never minded. We'll bring a few things down in our suitcases--just enough to make room for souvenirs on the way back. Then we'll get the rest at Publix. The closest Publix is just across the street from one of the WDW outlet stores. In 90 minutes we can hit both locations and the savings at the outlet more than justify the time. Often we'll find things that are half the price of the IDENTICAL item still being sold at stores on-property.
Admittedly I've never tried shipping things to the resort, but it sounds like a lot of hassle (plus shipping expense) on the front end. I'd also be worried that the package would either be late, damaged in transit or misplaced at the resort. By shopping myself there's zero margin for error.
If you change your mind, then ship for before you're due there... it can take several days for it to get through the system at Disney.
We've shipped several times, and never had a problem at all... and saved a ton, even with the cost of shipping. However, since you're heading to the outlet anyway, and Publix is there, that's probably the way to go!
