| Interval exchanges Now I didn't buy into DVC to do much more than traveling to Disney places, but I'm wondering if anyone gets exchanges? I've had 2 requests in for exchanges, one for two different resorts in California and the other for a place in Ireland, they've been requested for about 8 months now. I keep on checking back with DVC to make sure they haven't lost them. The one in California is for next month what do you think my odds are? I've made back up plans at a resort that I'll have to pay for, but those points are sitting there waiting to be used. I read some threads on different boards that many DVCers weren't having much luck with exchanges. What is your experiences?

| We own with Westin in Scottsdale. For our 2007 year, I exchanged with Interval back in July 2006 with a request for either 3 different Hawaii properties or 2 different Aruba properties. We were requesting for April 2007 dates and it took until December 2006 for a confirmation. It worked for us, but we just had to be patient. Meanwhile, Interval called us every month or so to let us know about other openings. But we kindly said, no thanks, we're waiting for Hawaii or Aruba as this was a gift for my parents 40th anniversary, and that's where they wanted to go. Just be patient and hopefully something will pop up!!! (Oddly enough, I'll likely be doing this soon for Sept. 2008 with a request for Disney properties. I hope I can be patient for that!!)

| We own through Marriott Vacation Club, and use Interval for our exchanges. Sometimes we get our exchanges confirmed in a short period of time, and sometimes it is only a few months prior to our scheduled vacation (like when we exchange into DVC resorts!). It is hard to just wait-and-see, but if you are traveling within weeks, you may want to give them a call. If you call Interval, they are usually pretty good about giving you their "educated guess" about whether it is worth it to wait to be confirmed, or whether you should request a different location. |

| We gave up and canceled the exchange (got refunded the fee) and booked a Disney Cruise instead.

| Don't blame you there. I think the way of renting the points, instead of interval trading is the way to go. With the exception of Disney, I really don't care where I stay and can usually get a great deal. |
