Is October popular?

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if there is going to be any way to get a studio at WL for eight days for Oct 22 - 29. I have to book at the 7 month out mark so I will have to wait until March 29. Is that time of year pretty pretty busy for DVC owners at that resort? IF so, would I have a better shot to try earlier in the month? If so, then when do you suggest is the better time in Oct to try to get it? We can go any time in Oct. I need to go ahead and purchase airline tickets b/c there is a great sale right now and I feel like I should snag it before it is all full! Just wondering if I should get airfare for a different week other than Oct 22 and 29 if you feel there is a better week to go. We currently have reservations at AKL for Oct 22 -29, so I do have place reserved right now. I just really want to stay at WL and want to make it happen. These airline tickets must be purchased by March 6, so it has created some urgency!
Thanks

I think you stand a good chance. The more popular DVC resorts in October are the BoardWalk and Beach Club Villas, because of the Food and Wine Festival.

We go every year in Oct, be it at the beginning of the month and we have never had any trouble with resorts but we do tend to stay at SS and OKW

We haven't had any problems in October, and we even got BCV at the 7 month mark!

We went last October around the same time you are going for Mickey's Not So Scary Holloween Party and stayed at WLV. We had all had a great time! The parks were not crowded and we lucked out with the weather as it turned out to be slightly warmer for that time of the year (hit 81 on one day) so plenty of time also spent at the pool with the kids.

I do not think you will have any problems. Just remember to pack some light jackets as the temps can drop quite a bit a night (had this problem only on one of the nights).

We have gone many times all through October and never had a problem with booking or crowds, and that was booking in the 7 month period. Good luck

My wife and I have been each year since 2003 the last week in Oct. (Anniversary) we always enjoy it. Light crowds, usually good weather and of course F&W festival & MNSSHP.

October is a great time to go. As Cheryl said it might be trickier to get BCV or BWV because of Food & Wine. I think you should be fine at VWL.

I believe the only time that's of any concern in October is over the Columbus Day weekend...we were there this past year at that time and that weekend was VERY busy...but after Monday passed, the crowds weren't bad at all!

This is great news because we plan to stay at AKV over halloween and can only book 7 months out because of using DPs.
