Question about free internet

We'll be staying at the BCV, AKV, SSR and VB in April/May. From what I've heard, all of these resorts now offer complimentary internet usage for members staying on points, right? So how does the internet usage work, exactely? I should tell ya that I'm completely technologically challenged so I have no idea how to get my laptop (that I'm bringing with me) "hooked up" to the internet. Anyone wanna take pity on me and tell me what I need to bring or do to get it working? Thank you so much in advance!

LOL I'll take pity

There is a cable in the room that you put into your laptop and then the other end into the box in the room - it's like a telephone cable and then you turn your laptop on and go into your internet browser and it will ask you for your room number or something like that - you accept the terms and hey presto you're away......

.... at least that is in a perfect world, last year I was at BCV and had my MacBook with me and after 3 hours on the phone to Disney Tech Support and 2 visits by an engineer ...nope would not work... they had no clue why and gave me Free Wi-Fi instead but I couldn't use that in my room unfortunately - it was a real big PITA!!

But that isn't the norm I hasten to add so you should have no problem at all

Don't worry, I'm not that great on technology and we had no problems at all in October.

I had been wondering about free internet also.

If you are staying on developer points, is it also free?

Thanks

yes - developer points are member points - just a different type of them.
