| Leaving on the 5th!!! Well it's finally here we leave for our first official DVC member vacation on Sunday! We are staying 3 nights at our home resort Sartoga Springs and we will move to Old Key West for 2 nights (thanks for that idea from another DVC member). I just have a few questions: 1) is there towel service in the room or will I have to wash the towels myself? 2) Are there pool towels or do I need to pack them from home? 3) Also, do I need to buy laundry detergent when we head to the supermarket or does the room have that and dish soap and paper towels? 4) what time is check in? We are going grocery shopping and I will need to put items in the fridge. Thanks we are actually leaving on the 4th flying into West Palm beach because the air was $700 cheaper than flying into Orlando. We will get up on the 5th and drive to Orlando and we are going to stop at the supermarket before we get to the resort unless checkin is at 4:00 then I guess we will have to wait. I appreciate any prep advice you may have for us for our first venture! Thanks Terri |

| How great to have your first member vacation to look forward to! To answer your questions, you will get your towels changed in what's called "towel and trash" on your fourth day, when your trash cans will be emptied and you'll be left with fresh bathroom towels. To be honest, in between these, we tend to just hang up our towels to dry in the bathroom and that works for us. Certainly at the Beach Club, there are pool towels, so I'd imagine there are at both Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, although on our stays at each, we never made it to the pool! If you're staying in anything other than a studio, you'll have laundry detergent provided for you, although we tend to bring our own that we're familiar with. Check-in is 4pm. Have a great time! ![]()

| If you are staying in a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom unit, you will find a single-load box of Tide in the room when you arrive. (You could probably stretch it to two loads if you skimp (Personally I've always put power laundry detergent in ziploc bags and bought it from home. Believe me the airlines can tell the difference between laundry soap and other illegal powdery substances. Just make sure you double-bag to avoid spillage.) There are pool towels at all resorts. Check-in time is technically listed as "after 4pm" but the resorts will get you into the room early whenever possible. We usually arrive sometime in the morning...check-in immediately...plan to go to the parks and then do our grocery shopping later. We usually get into our room well in advance of 4pm but it's one of those things you can't plan for. Maybe....maybe not. Bell services has coolers and could hold your groceries, but in all honesty I would just wait if possible. They've been known to be a little careless with refrigerated and frozen items, and you have to call down to get your items delivered which can take time (1+ hrs) depending on how busy they are. Have fun! |

| I found a little travel size bottle of Tide in our local CVS, and I have been travelling with that (refilled from home) ever since. I seal it tight, tape it shut and put it in a ziploc baggie in my suitcase. A few Bounce sheets thrown in, and you're good to go! ![]() The little box they give you in your room is hardly any, and I prefer liquid detergent anyway!

| this is what I use - allergy to most detergents - but so far these are fine Walmart.com: Dropps Scent- and Dye-Free Laundry Detergent, 42-Load: Kitchen & Dining just put a few in ziplock bags. now use to bring liquid detergent but since I drove that is not a big problem. these are easier and take up far less room. have a great trip!!!
