| Ok, all you DVC veterns out there. I am totally freaking out because I have a family vacation booked for California the last week of Feb 2010. I keep calling to make reservations at Hotel Del Coronado with my points and everytime I call they tell me something different. First it was suppose to open up the begining of Sept, then the end now I was told they may not have them available until Dec. Now you have to understand that I dont usually plan like this. I like to have everything booked by now. So I guess I just need some reassurance that this is even going to be a possiblity. I have my GC villa booked so I am happy about that, but it is just we are planning on spending our first three days in San diego and I dont have a hotel yet. Should I book something else as long as I can cancel it if HDC comes through. Help help help....

| I don't know what to advise. To be honest, bookings outside of the DVC resorts and Disney itself seem to be becoming more hit or miss. Members will tell you that we used to have our points books through in the fall, then it was early January one year (2008 I think?) and this year, I think they rolled up in the spring - does that sound right? That gives you an idea of how late they're firming up some details with collections, like the concierge. I think I would see if you can find a hotel that you book with no cancellation fees, just so you have something. Hopefully they'll open booking for concierge collection hotels soon. ![]()
