2 quick questions about booking DVC for the first time!

Whoo hoo!

LOL...well, it's not "officially" the first time because when we bought in, we booked a trip right then and there (which we just returned from).

But this will be my first time calling to book. (I'm going to call instead of on-line, I like the live CM/person experience).

Here are my 2 questions:

1. Is the 11 month mark, the day to call EXACTLY 11 months prior to the day of check in? ie. If we want to check in on Sept. 25, I call on Oct. 25?

2. What info do I need with me in order to book? I'm thinking member #, names of peeps in room...anything else? I don't want to go scrambling for stuff leaving the CM on the phone, you know?

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!

Yes, you can book at exactly 11 months before check-in for your home resort and exactly 7 months before check-in for other resorts. All you should need are your member number, the resort and dates you want, and the names and ages of all guests. (You may not need ages for adults, but I know they ask for the ages of children.)

Happy booking!

If you're bringing any guests who live in a different household (adults with different last name) sometimes DVC will ask for the home address of these individuals.

You could also consider whether you want to list any requests on the reservation (must be done thru Member Services--no phone calls or faxes to the resort) and if you want to buy one of the Dining Plans.

If ever you're not sure about the date to call, check on the Member website. Under My Membership and My Vacations, it will tell you how far out you can book from that day - I always find that really helpful.

Not the best way to make a reservation. Doing it online it can take up to 3 days to get a confirmation of your booking, whereas doing it over the phone you can get confirmation immediately. But it is an option regardless

Good to know! I've always booked by calling and I know booking online is somewhat new. But if it takes three days then I would call as well.
