| Question for BLT vacationers... Ok so DH and I just got back from our first DVC stay at SSR. We stayed there instead of at our home resort, BLT, because we used those wonderful DPs! Anywho, one day we snuck over to BLT and followed a family onto the walkway, and subsequently into the new resort. So, my point, for those of you who have already been lucky enough to stay at BLT: Did you find that the rooms were noisy; i.e. that they let in a lot of noise from the hallways and/or from your neighbors? I ask this because during our "tour," we were walking around the hallways, taking pictures, etc., and we noticed that a few of the rooms that apparently had people in them were extremely noisy in that they allowed all of the conversations, babies crying, etc. to flow out plain as day into the hallway. I mean one family was in an end-of-the-hall room and they were sitting down to eat, as we could plainly hear, and if I hadn't been standing there, I would have thought their door was open! I'm not blaming them for being excessively loud, because I don't think they were, but I'm more concerned about the doors and their possible lack of "soundproofness." Just figured I'd ask if anyone had any experience with this in their recent stays, or if anyone going in the near future could investigate/pay attention to this? Thanks!! P.S. I still can't wait until next year when we get to go...I'll just need to figure out how to get a box fan to Florida (for white noise while we sleep!). LOL

| I think I remember hearing some children in the hall one morning, but nothing crazier than you normally hear. I can't recall even hearing anyone in the villa next to us. There are definitely some growing pains for BLT, but noise wasn't one for us. Jill

| No. In fact, I thought BLT was quieter than other hotel-style resorts, such as BWV.

| DH and I had no problem what so ever with noise, but DS#2 Chat had a BRAT in the bedroom next to his. The kid screamed for hours on end! The parents ignored him until Chat finally said something. It happened a few times during our stay, though. But normal day to day? Not a peep. We didn't hear any voices. (Which is a good thing. )

| Glad to hear that the outside noise is not a big problem at BLT. Quote:

| No, in fact I only met one other person in the hall during our brief 2-day stay there and that was at the ice machine. We were on the 9th floor; did not notice any noise at all!

| Glad to "hear" it. Oh I crack myself up. I'm glad you can't hear anything from inside your own room at least. (And I have to say if I heard a kid screaming for hours, the front desk would have been called. The discourteousness of other people astounds me! Glad he was someone who says something; he's my hero. )

Another one is housekeeping. It took forever for us to get into our room even though I saw tons of mousekeepers leaving for the day over an hour before we got in our room. Also, we had to call for toilet paper and dishwashing liquid. The dishwasher did not work and there was also a metal rack in the microwave which obviously wasn't meant for the microwave and I burnt my hands on it. These last few things can happen anywhere, but I think the biggest one is having someone physically located in the BLT lobby. We still loved it and already have plans to stay there next June. Jill

| How odd that the dishwasher did not work when it should be brand new. We also had a metal rack in the microwave at SSR, but just left it there when we used it.

And I believe that the dishwasher just wasn't hooked in properly. It would start and then stop. Once they fixed it, it worked fine. Jill

| that is so weird about the dishwasher not working, when they actually had cast members stay in the rooms and test everything before it opened to the public. We are staying at BLT starting next Friday (1 night in a studio standard view, which I have requested a couple different room numbers after referring to the disboards room chart that actually had partial MK views and then 7 nights in a 2-bedroom dedicated villa MK view.) I will let you know what we think!! |

| We're staying there at the end of the month - I'll definitely let you know what I hear, because I sleep very lightly (a very small reason we bought into DVC in the first place was because I couldn't take the paper-thin walls of the value resorts anymore! BTW, your "white noise" question may have a possible solution other than shipping a box fan - do you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch? Apple has a White Noise App for download that I , and one of the "noises" is "Fan"!
