Questions about banking points

I'm just wondering, We banked some points in 2009 and are wondering if they have to be used by a certain date in 2010 or just the whole 2010 year?

Here is an explanation from the DVC Member website. I think they are saying you have to use the banked points before the last day of your current usage year.
  • You may bank all or a percentage of your Vacation Points from your current Use Year to next Use Year by the date listed on the banking chart . To bank online, select the Bank Vacation Points link in the Points section of My Membership. You may also contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800 or (407) 566-3800†.
  • Vacation Points can only be banked once.
  • If you've not completed travel on banked Vacation Points by the end of the Use Year they've been banked into, they expire.
  • You cannot return banked Vacation Points to their original Use Year.
  • You cannot borrow or transfer banked Vacation Points.
  • You may apply banked Vacation Points to all Member Getaways exchanges.
  • You'll be given a banking transaction number when you bank Vacation Points; please be sure to record it.
  • All banking transactions are final.
  • In order to bank Vacation Points, you need to be up to date on your Annual Dues and monthly loan payments (if applicable), and not have any other outstanding balances related to your Membership.
Hope this helps.

Also on a side note be sure to let them know when booking that you want to use your banked points first. I know it seems common sense but I have heard horror stories of points being "lost" because the CM who booked them didn't make that assumption. Of course it worked out in the end but why not save yourself the hassle!

That's a very good piece of advice.
