| Thinking about becoming DVC member and have ? So what happens to the property after the deed is up? Can it be renewed by family, does it revert back to disney to let them resell or do what ever with? What about park tickets? Is it cheaper to do AP or regular tickets when planning a trip? We are seriously considering becoming members. Thanks! |

| Legally the property reverts back to Disney and your ownership completely ends. DVC contracts are definitely not something I would label an "investment" since they inevitably hold $0.00 value. DVC has offered contract extensions for Old Key West. The original ending date was 1/31/2042 and about 2 years ago they gave owners the opportunity to extend to 1/31/2057. Nobody really knows how many people took advantage of that opportunity. It was initially priced at $15 per point. Financial gurus will tell you that buying those extra 15 years of ownership, which you cannot even use for another 30+ years, actually had a present value around $3-5 per point. In other words, DVC did offer extensions but the pricing was very much in their favor. DVC member receive $100 off of the price of an Annual Pass and $125 off of the Premium AP. Assuming that you make frequent use of the theme parks throughout your trips and can get 2-3 trips in under a single set of APs, that's usually the way to go. We will often plan ahead to maximize APs when we buy them. For instance, APs purchased today would be valid through 10/19/2010 and could be used for trips in October '09, February '10 and October '10. If we were doing that, we would probably use all of our points from at least 2009 and 2010. Then we would skip a year or so and return to WDW sometime in 2011. That way we are only buying APs every-other-year (2009, 2011, etc.) Some people who don't go to the parks every day will still swear by the non-expiring Magic Your Way tickets. It's really just a question of what works best for you. But DVC members do not receive any extra discount on MWY tickets. |

| Interesting question. I'd never thought about what happens when it runs out, as I'll be very old and grey by then!

| As purchasing AP's go, Tim gave some great advice. DW and I try to get in 2 trips for each pass so we only have to purchase them every other year. It also helps if you plan on taking longer trips too, as DW and I typically spend 2 weeks in the World.

| Thanks! I just don't want to spend tons of money and not be able to use the property or spend the money and have nothing to show for it in the end. I guess I'm off to do numbers |
