Did anyone else recieve the postcard in the mail for the 2010 members cruise? We got ours yesterday. Sounds like a great time and heard they give away tons of free stuff. We may have to wait a couple years though since we want to save some points for some other trips. They do offer cash rates which is nice.

DW and I were looking into this too. We have enough pts for both of us to cruise but that leave us with NOTHING for a stay at the World. Might have to look at a cash booking

Exactly, we would have enough points to do the cruise too, but we wouldn't have anything left and we were actually planning on banking 2010 points to do a big family trip in 2011. We really don't want to get in the habit of borrowing. We were looking at the cash rates too, but its per person, so that can run into money!

I guess we'll get ours in a few weeks, especially with postal strikes over here. One day, I'm sure we'll do a members' cruise, as it sounds like a lot of fun, but not with Alaska in 2011.

We were told by a CM that when you go on the member's cruise they give you tons of free gifts thruoghout the cruise. Sounds neat, but with being new members and wanting to do so many things, we may have to put this on hold.

I would definitely prefer a cash booking just so we too can get back to the World, but all those freebies are calling my name. . .

Never heard about a members cruise, we just joined earlier this week. Will we get something in the mail about it? That is one thing we were looking into doing, a cruise.

They usually do a mailout. If you log into the members' website, there are details up about it now.

I received the post card too and am considering it. If we go I don't think we would use points as the price per point typically is not worth it. The bad thing about paying cash though- is it is due in full when you make the reservation.

When are they stating to take reservations for this? I seem to remember reading its Nov 5th?!?!

Answered my own question with some quick searching.

Booking starts Nov 7th

booking is Nov 7th starting at like 9 am. they said it sells out quickly though so if you are going to call, you need to have all of your information straight, I think it gives you a little punch list so you are ready to my your reservation.

Ok I just thought of something. . .

Do you have to have a Passport to go on this cruise? I can't tell if one would be necessary as you're not making any ports of call other than Castaway Cay (unless that's considered international)?

I don't know for certain, but I do know that PassPorter always advises getting one and making it a proper passport book. Then if you do want to travel anywhere else in the world - and there are so many wonderful places to visit around the world - you're equipped to do that. I wouldn't be without my passport, it's opened up so many great places for me!
