I've been reading on another board how members were surprised and dismayed at the wear and tear that the furniture was showing at BLT, and the resort being so new. Anyone have any personal experiences? What did you think?
I'm asking because DH and I have been considering adding on at BLT (since we passed on it the first time around-we ended up adding more points at AKV - I wasn't impressed by the pictures, but after touring it in person, realized the pictures did not do it justice). If the furnishings aren't holding up, that can only mean increased maintenance fees for owners.
Saw nothing like that back in Oct. There were a few design issuses but no wear and tear at that point.
I agree! We were there at the end of Sept last year and although there were some design flaws (do you really want to be washing your hands after you use the bathroom in the same room you have/prepare food in?) and I hated the fact that there were no sheers on the windows...
There was no wear and tear in our studio.
I am getting very nervous about our upcoming stay in Sept.! We're treating my mom and she keeps saying how beautiful the "apartment" looks in the pictures! I don't want her to be dissppointed (or grossed out)....
We'll be at AKV for 3 nights first and then moving to BLT.....eesh. I've decided I might try to move our Jan stay at BLT to BCV or VWL if I can (though I doubt I'll be able to) if we're not happy with BLT in Sept.
BLT is DH and my home resort and we're finally getting to stay there in November!
I would have (ok, like!) to believe that maybe the other board members were a little "nit picky" since BLT is soooo new, but never say never.
Hopefully everything is as to be expected. . .even being so new I'd still expect some wear due to how popular the resort is, but obivously I wouldn't want scratched furniture, thread-bare carpets, etc.
We stayed at BLT in Oct and loved it. There were a few issues - doors not closing properly and we did see some wear. I can't remember now if it was a scratched table or a mark on a chair/sofa. It was not bad enough for us to complain or want to leave. We were a little surprised to see anything like that since it was so new, but I suppose all it takes is one guest. It was minor and it seems like no matter how nice the hotel (at WDW and beyond) there is always something like that. Like I said, we had a great time. We don't regret buying into BLT and look forward to returning in 2011.
Some folks casually mentioned some concerns with the design of BLT....anyone have a minute to elaborate...looking forward to a future stay there.
Thank you.
My only concern, when I saw the showrooms at Saratoga Springs, were the bright colours in the room. I really didn't think much of them, but when we stayed in a room, they were much better than I thought they would be.
I only found one issue.. The hinge in the cabinet above the sink was broken.
That can happen anyplace.. I am sure maintenance had that fixed after it was reported. The room was excellent, The comforter was so nice! I wanted to take it home
We got back from 3 nights at BLT last week. This was our second stay - we were there last September also.
There was a bit of wear on one of those green chairs at the kitchen island, and one of the jacuzzi jet things (sorry for the non-technical language) came out a couple times, but those were the only two minor issues. Our stay at BLT was wonderful, and as maintenance / wear and tear occur everywhere, I was not put off by it . . .
