I talked to a DVC agent yesterday about upgrading my GAD,GAD voucher to an annual pass and using my DVC discount as well, which would make my two AP's cost around $500 somthing together & she said i could not upgrade my Give a Day, Get A Day voucher for ANY other ticket or annual pass, with a dvc disount or not. I know this cant be right completely, b/c I read this on the GADGAD website;
May I upgrade my free one day ticket to an Annual Pass or multi-day ticket? Yes, you may upgrade the free ticket to another ticket type of greater value within the applicable upgrade window. However, you are responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by you. No changes or refunds will be given. The value of the free ticket may not be used to combine or upgrade with a separate single or multi-day ticket. May I use the value of the free one-day ticket toward the renewal of my Annual Pass or Passport?
Yes, the value of the free ticket may be used to renew your Annual Pass or Passport within the applicable renewal window. You are responsible for any additional costs owed and no change or refunds will be given
So, can someone help me? Can i combine this or not?
You can upgrade. I doubt Member Services agents are well versed in complicated ticket questions.
In Disney's ticketing system, the DVC AP is its own separate entity rather than a normal AP with a discount applied. So they really aren't stacking any discounts in this case. (In fact, applying the Give a Day ticket isn't even a discount.) It's no different than applying the value of an older pass to the purchase of a new one, a process Disney performs dozens of times each day.
The only thing somewhat unique to the Give a Day ticket is that you actually have to USE it before you can upgrade. You will have to enter a park and then later return to Guest Relations in order to perform the upgrade.
