Has anyone stayed at BLT for New Years Eve and the days leading up to it? What can I expect at the resort, as far as special things for Christmas, pools, weather etc? Will Santa be there after Christmas or is he gone? We plan on going Dec. 26-Jan 2. Thanks in advance! (Am I crazy for going at this time???)

We've not stayed at Bay Lake Tower, but we have been there around that time and the crowds are insane, but to be honest, so long as you know that, you can plan around it. Aim to make use of Extra Magic Hours and it's well worth getting up early and heading to the Magic Kingdom as soon as it opens, as that's probably going to be the quietest you'll find it at that time of the year. Use the Fastpass system and be sure to hit the big rides early on in the day. As I say, if you plan, you'll be Ok.
A friend of mine went on NYE and stayed at BLT. He watched the fireworks from the lounge and was sending me pictures that had me drooling!
Like Chez said, if you are prepared for crowds and know what to expect, you'll be fine. But I would call/be online exactly at your 11 month window, and even then, have a plan B!
