We just booked a Standard Studio at AKLV Jambo House. Having never stayed at AKL...I was wondering what all amenities we could expect. The sunrise safari, is that only available to those at the conceirge level? Is there a community hall at Jambo or only at Kidani? How far is the walk to Kidani?

I've also heard that some of the standard rooms at AKL can have a savannah view. Are there many with that view? Is it just luck of the draw if you get one, or is there some wording under requests that can help that to happen?

I've read about long walks...can't remember if that's at Kidani or Jambo or both. What would be some good room requests for us to make (for view and location)??

Safari only available to concierge.

About 40% of Value rooms have savanna view and you CANNOT request it. Everyone would like to have the savanna view so they don't even accept that request. 60% of the people staying value are going to be disappointed.

IIRC the walk between Jambo and Kidani is about .75 miles. It isn't too bad but figure 10-15 minutes to get there.

Community hall is only at Kidani.

Some of the rooms at both Jambo and Kidani are a bit far from the lobby but not so with the Value rooms. They are mostly clustered above the lobby.

The sunrise safari is only available to concierge guests, but the sunset safari (which includes a fabulous dinner at Jiko) is available to all guests.
There are a lot of activities throughout the resort and most are free. There's storytelling, an art tour of the lobby, watching the animals get fed, night viewing of the animals, casual chats with the animal staff, who are wonderful to talk to and can tell you a lot about the animals

Tim answered everything right on the money. We stayed on points in a value Jambo Studio last October. We had an unremarkable view of the parking lot. It was only one night so it wasn't a big deal to us. The room is quite tiny. In fact, the sofa is wedged in and touches two walls. The nice thing about AKV - Jambo is that there are excellent views from all of the public areas around the resort. Don't worry - You'll have lots of opportunities for animal viewing. The ambiance of the lobby is amazing!
