Old Key West Question

I have a one bedroom booked for our August trip. We choose to get a room close to the hospitality house, but my question is .... is there a bldg that we should request that is the closest to the HH. Looking at the map I am a bit concerned that the walk to the pool is far no matter where you stay. Would I be better off staying not close and requesting a villa poolside? Help so confused

We will be at OKW for this first time this August as well. I am interested in hearing your response. We will spend our first 5 days at POR and the next 5 at OKW. I have made requests for POR but we will have a rental car starting with the OKW leg, so I am not as concerned about location. However, it would be nice to be close to the pool...

Buildings 11 thru 14 and 62 are the closest. We were in Building 11, which sits in the corner of the resort, but is not a long walk to the pool. Yes, you walk through your building's parking area and the small HH parking lot with 4 rows of cars. There's a sidewalk between the community hall and the basketball court, so you don't have to go all the way around to the main walkway between the lobby/check-in and the general store to get there.

Depends upon what you consider "far." If you are booked in the "close to Hospitality House" category, it's about a 5-6 minute walk from anywhere. About the same amount of time it takes to walk from the MK entrance to Tomorrowland. And that's 5 minutes walking through one of the most attractively themed resorts Disney has to offer (IMO.)

Also all Disney buses stop at the Hospitality House before departing the resort. If you don't want to walk, go to the nearest bus stop and hop on the first bus which arrives. (Never hurts to double-check with the driver that he will be stopping at the HH, though.)

Daily visits to the main pool from a more distant area like South Point are a bit more challenging but the closer buildings are no great hardship, IMO.

DS#2 stayed on Millars road in March for spring break and loved it. They found a "shortcut" to the HH and pool and loved the location. We stayed in building 12 a few years ago and just had to cross the parking lot to get to the pool

Here is a map...... You can find the building which works best for you, although I can tell you that all the HH buildings are pretty convenient to the resort areas such as main pool, store, etc.

We stayed in 45 which was pretty close to a quiet pool. You can also hop one of the buses, since the last stop before heading to the park is the HH.

We always request HH and stay in building 11 through 14. These are just across the street from the bus stop, HH and the pool area. One thing we like about staying there is how the buses work out. We catch the bus at the HH which is the last stop. When coming back we get of at the first stop that is on Peninsular road and a short walk away from our rooms.

We stayed in Building #64 and to us it was close to the HH. My girls and I walked to the pool a couple of times and it was a short walk to catch the bus. Now on our way back from the parks we didn't wait on coming all the way back to the HH since it was the last stop. We would get off on the first and it was not too far back to our building and to us saved us time when we were tired. We just walked back across the bridge and around the corner and we were there.
The pool at the HH has a sand castle slide and my girls loved it.

We were in building 18 which is a little farther but still only took us less than 10 minute walk and we were right around the corner from the quiet pool. We were there every night. right around the corner from the bus also. Had a beautiful view of the fountain on the green.
