I'm going to be booking 3 nts at AKLV soon, using my 11 month window. I'm going to be using some of my 2014 points for the 2013 ressie. Should I call, or will the online version know to borrow them for me? And what are the times when both the online booking, and the phone assistance "open" in the morning? Thanks!
The online version will take you through the process. It will tell you if you need to borrow points and then it will ask you which contract you want to borrow them from. I was very impressed with it and I like the control it gives you.
Yep the system works very well. We booked AKV for April and I was booking half the trip on my moms points which I had to borrow from 2013 (September use year) and then the other half on our points and we have two separate contracts. It allowed me to easily borrow on my moms. Then on ours it allowed us to select which contract to use and how many points from each. This was nice because we didn't use all of our points and I was able to pull them from the lowest first and the rest from the other. It was really easy.
The online booking opens at 8am and member services opens at 9am (Eastern time). So you have a 1 hour advantage if you book online. I was on the computer 10 minutes early and it switches at exactly 8am. If I clicked earlier it showed unavailable, but right at 8am it worked.
