We recently added points at Aulani and will be making our first trip in May. We will be with our 11 year old and our 8 month old daughters. When we bought the points, on our last cruise, our DVC rep told us that the kids club was ages 3-10 and that there was a teen club/spa for ages 13 and up. He mentioned they had tween activities but that the tween program was "lacking" and that we should be aware of this for our daughter. (we were fine with this) He also assured us that there was in room babysitting available, for an added fee, for children under 3 years old. This was also in some of the online promotion materials we saw at the time. Fast forward to everything I have been reading and I now see the kids club listed as ages 3-12 and no babysitting. I emailed the resort directly and confirmed no babysitting services available. (no shock there, but disappointed) I was also told that the kids club is now officially ages 3-12 and that unlike the cruise ships, older kids may not sign themselves in and out of the program, but must be signed in and out by an adult. I am wondering if this means for any participation or just for the paid activities? I am thinking that my 11 year will in no way want me to be signing her in and out of the kids club in Hawaii! LOL I am wondering what others have experienced with similar aged kids.
Maybe there is plenty of fun stuff for us to do without babysitting or kids club and I should just not worry about any of this??
