Question about which home resort to pick? Last October, my husband and I signed up to be DVC members - with our home resort being SSR. We were building a house @ the time, and when we returned home and came down off our high - we paniced and called and cancelled our membership. Now that we see we CAN afford to do this - we want back in... At the time of signing up - we were not told we could chose anywhere else to be our "home resort." But from reading these posts - I see that other people are signing up for the older resorts. SO - my question is can I request a certain resort to be my "home resort?" thanks in advance! Tammy

Re: Question about which home resort to pick? Buying through Disney, you can only pick SSR, i think. but you can buy thru DVC by Resale at Disney Vacation Club Resales by DVC By Resale . Hope this helps! Wendy

Re: Question about which home resort to pick? You can also search for resales on Ebay. Whatever your home resort turns out to be, the difference is that you have an 11 month window to book, and a 7 month window for all the other resorts. Keep us posted, and welcome home!

Re: Question about which home resort to pick? Just thought of one other difference between buying at Saratoga Springs resort and the other DVC resorts is that purchases at SSR are good until 2054. Purchases at all other DVC resorts only last until 2042, which is why SSR costs more. Best of luck in deciding!
