This will be my first trip with DVC. I know when you book a room (not DVC), if it's your birthday, you'll oftentimes find a surprise when you arrive.

If you book through DVC do they do this?

We just recently were at BCV and VWL and on our reservation, I had them note that it was our 10th anniversary. They surprised us, at both resorts, with balloons and an autographed picture. It was really cute.

I think that's wonderful, Wendy. We've stayed at both VWL and BCV, both times for my girls' bdys and both times, we didn't get anything special Both times the CM mentioned the bdys at checkin and this last time at BCV, my hopes were really high b/c the CM asked DD all kinds of questions like her favorite character and colors and said they were going to surprise her. But nothing ever came

So I guess, sometimes it happens and it's a great surprise if it does, but don't expect it too much in case it doesn't. (Just to be on the safe side in both cases, I ordered a gift from an outside source to be delivered for my girls).

That was a good idea Val to order something from an outside source!! I know I wasn't expecting anything. I hadn't ever told Ben about the little bits of magic Disney sometimes does. He was completely shocked.

Last June, I used PixieGifts and had a bag for each of my kids ordered. I spent a total of $200 and they even did a bag for me!! It was really neat.

Actually it's kind of neat that it took your DH by surprise - I guess after you hear so many stories and you're just waiting for something to happen, so when it doesn't, it's more disappointing than if you didn't expect it and nothing happened - gosh, did that even make any sense??? ROFL

For my oldest's bdy, I used Fairy Godmother Gifts but it seems they're no longer in business. So last time I used Gifts of a Lifetime - I would LOVE to schedule a pixie event but not in the budget any time soon! But I ordered stuff from their Personal Shopper page and Jane herself delivered it to the resort (of course, it took 2 phone calls before the desk found it and brought it to us! ).
