Disappointment...

So, I put down my downpayment for Saratoga Springs. I got my paperwork in the mail the other day. I'm ready to sign and be off, only now there's a glitch.

When I booked, I asked if I would have any problems booking a room in May even though my use year doesn't start until August. My salesperson said, "no problem...you can just borrow..." So, I call today to book, and they take the reservation, no problem.

Then I call Carol to go over my paperwork, and there's a problem! I can't book early as the Saratoga Springs building I'm buying into doesn't even open until June 7th.

So, I'm thinking I'm going to scrap the whole deal for this year. I don't want to have to pay to stay in May and then pay all that money come June. It just seems silly.

Anyway, I'm disappointed and I thought I'd share!

That stinks. Are you sure they can't work anything out for you?

Re: Disappointment...

Two questions:

1. Can you just not book at that building, or can you not book at all?

2. Is it because you haven't closed?

We added 100 points at SSR in January. When I called in late January to book my May trip, the points were in my account (to borrow, since I didn't technically have them until Dec 2005) but because I hadn't closed yet, I couldn't use them. Whn I called down 2 weeks ago for December, they were available.

I would check on that...

Re: Disappointment...

I was about to suggest what Sue had said. Definitely ring back and check why you can't use your points. I hope you're able to sort it out.

Re: Disappointment...

Can't book for a time before you close. Can't close until the building is completed. Your salesperson (guide) mislead you. If you wanted a time after June, you'd be all set.

Re: Disappointment...

I guess that's because you won't officially "close" until June! How heartbreaking! it is too bad that it wasn't explained better for you!

Re: Disappointment...

The building I bought in isn't open until June 7th, and correct, I can't book until I close, and can't close until the building is open.

Has anyone heard any horror stories about cancelling after paying the deposit? They said I would get all of my money back.

Re: Disappointment...

You have "buyer's remorse" for 10-14 days after putting money down to back-out.
