Question about using DVC points? DH and I started talking about buying into DVC we were wondering does it cost more points if you use them at other DVC resorts other than your home resort? Do you get any other perks and where can you find them? Thanks for your help. ![]()

Re: Question about using DVC points? The point values are determined by the resort, not by whether or not you own there. The main difference is booking. You can book at your home resort at 11 months out, and at all other DVC resorts at 7 months out. There are discounts available for DVC members (my current favorite is the AP discount) but these are across the board, not resort ownership specicif. In other word,s you don't get a different discount because you own at SSR versus OKW. Some of the perks are discounts on certain meals, Pleasure Island entry discount, AP discount, water sports discount and spa discounts. These are just a few, and they are subject to change. Some of the discounts are listed on the website, some will be listed in the quarterly publication "Vacation Magic" and you will also get a list when you check in to a DVC resort. I always ask, too, because I never remember who does and doesn't give a discount! ![]()

Re: Question about using DVC points? Some resorts are a few points more costly than others. The type of room (studio, 1br, 2br, 3br) also escalates in point-value, as does the time of season. For example, a studio at SSR at Christmas week (premier season) is more costly than a 1br at OKW in off-season.
