Kind of a dumb DVC question-- but it may make me feel better

Do you think the DVC will continue to grow, and take on more people. Joe and I really wanted to buy into this after our May trip, but we just can't afford it right now. I really want to do it at some point, because I think once the boys are teens (long time down the road, I know) they won't want to stay in a one bedroom hotel room with their mom, I think we'll want more privacy. So at some point, I really want to join the DVC-- I'm just afraid at some point they won't be able to take on more members. What do you think? Do you guys on the inside every hear any rumors that at some point it will stop taking on members, or that more properties will be added?

Dina, that's not a dumb question at all. From everything I've read and heard, I believe the DVC will continue to grow and add new members for a long time to come. What Disney has done so far is start building or converting a new DVC property as soon as the current one they have on offer becomes sold out. DVC seems to become more and more popular and since Disney loves money, I think DVC will continue to grow and prosper for a very long time.

I'm with Joy 100% on this. Disney monitor when resorts are getting full and as one sells out, they announce their plans for the next. ALready there are various rumours circulating about parts of the Contemporary, which could be the next site, after they finish selling Saratoga Springs. Let's be honest, Disney have lots of land to choose from at WDW to build new resorts, so I think they'll be selling the Vacation Club for many years to come yet.

Re: Kind of a dumb DVC question-- but it may make me feel better

They are building currently through 2007 (SSR) and show no signs of slowing down. The rumor that is floating around is that the newest DVC resort will be at the Contemporary! I think as more members join, and more people show interest, the DVC resorts will increase to help keep up with the demand!

There are still open buildings in SSR; it's not scheduled to be completed until 2007. I'm sure they will increase units as demand gets greater.

Keeping my fingers crossed about the Contemporary! Plus, wasn't there talk of another DVC property named Eagle Pines (back before Saratoga opened)? I think it was even listed in my first Passporter (2003).
