Adding DVC points - home location or second location? My wife and I realize that we are consuming on average more points than we purchased. We are considering adding another 50-100 points. Our question is whether we should add onto our existing home location (Saratoga Springs) or add a foothold into a second location (like Old Key West or Boardwalk). ![]()

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? There are a couple of reasonable after-market web sites, recommended by AllEars for getting additional points. I browsed it and there are lots of other options at other properties that people want to sell. So seccond location would be a realistic option (not through Disney).

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? We started at VWL with 250 points, added 25 at BWV and just added 100 at SSR. We kinda like having ownership at 3 resorts, even though the small amount of points at BWV don't give us much for an 11 month booking window. The advantage to adding at SSR now is that you would get 50+ years out of it, whereas a resale would only give you about 37 or so more years. That being said, I know there are some real good deals out there on resales, and I'm sure in 2042, DVC will do something to keep all those members coming back! ![]() Points are like chocolate...the more you have the more you want! ![]()

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? Most of our points are at Boardwalk where we first bought. We treated my in-laws to a week at Vero (they aren't really Disney people) and they loved it. So when we added on we did it there. It give us extra points to play with and when we want to treat them again (like when they go next week) we'll use those points. There are a number of resellers that have all size of contracts at almost all of the DVC resorts. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? We enjoy having our points at the Beach Club Villas, as that's our favourite resort and we like being able to book at 11 months out. That said, we've added on twice at Saratoga Springs now, mainly because of the excellent incentives that are offered to get you to take out extra points there. I really don't think you can lose out whichever route you take, as there are plus points to both buying through the DVC or through resale at one of the other resorts. with making your decision.

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? We bought our points at two different places - VWL and OKW -- because we love having two different atmospheres to look forward to. The lodge feel at VWL is cozy, homey and absolutely gorgeous. Then in January, when we've had enough of the cold and snow, we can enjoy the beautiful flowers and tropical feel of OKW.

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? I think part of your decision should hinge on how much you enjoy staying at your home resort. In our case our home resort is Saratoga Springs and at this point in time, I'm still not too crazy about this resort (we bought before it was built so never had a chance to visit it beforehand). We are looking to buy some additional points but are hoping to get them at BCV since we absolutely adored our stay there. Joy

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? Our home is at BCV and I'd really like to add points on at that resort but I won't turn down a good deal at any of the DVC resorts Good luck!

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? [ QUOTE ] Are they still offering points and extra incentives for DVC members for SS? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure what the latest incentive is. I know the price is now $98/point, I'm sure there is some incentive going on. Anyone who bought or toured recently know?

Re: Adding DVC points - home location or second location? We just got the tour a few days ago with some friends. The current price is $98/point. DVC is offering an $8/point credit for new purchases and add-ons of at least 100 points. BTW DVC has been buying up points and making them available for VWL and BC. However, they are still $98/point and expire in 2042. If I were adding on I'd go for the extra 12 years at SS. Cheers Craig
