Vero Beach

Hi anyone stay recently at Vero Beach? I'll be staying there in June for a few days. I had 34 points that I had to use or loose. So I came up with Vero Beach for a few days.

What is there to do there? I haven't had time to look anything up yet. I was planning on going to Hilton Head with the points but .... they were booked solid.

Re: Vero Beach

Someone will come along and answer you!!! I've always wanted to stay there, and we had planned on it last year, but life got in the way and we were not able to add it to our vacation.

Re: Vero Beach

Firstly, it might be worth checking out this thread which has lots of useful information and photos from people who've stayed there.

I'm not sure I'll be much help with activities, as we visited in December and it was very cold, with not much going on. I can tell you that the beach was absolutely beautiful and it was very relaxing, albeit very cold to walk along it. The pool looked nice, but I didn't sample it.

Elsewhere in the resort, don't miss Sonya's and especially their seafood buffet on Sunday and Thursday evenings. That was one of my highlights of our visit there - it was so good.

Outside of the resort, we visited Riverside Park in Vero Beach. There, we found the Memorial Island, an area paying tribute to those who gave their lives for their county. It's a very quiet place to be, offering you time to think. It's also a great place for views to the mainland and local wildlife - while there, we saw eagles and pelicans. Riverside Park also has a Museum of Art, although we didn't visit it.

For food, I can thoroughly recommend the Ocean Grill on the ocean front. The food is excellent and the views superb. If you go there, you must try their famous crab burgers.

Re: Vero Beach

Cheryl that restaurant menu is fab! Don't know whether to have the conch sandwich, crab burger, fried oysters... So much to choose from!

We're going out there for the day next month and were wondering where to eat lunch. Now we know.

Thanks!
