Caldercup's Guide Bio

Even though I’d gone to Orlando a few times in my teens and twenties, it wasn’t until my husband and I took our son on his first trip in 2002 that I absolutely fell under the spell of Disney’s magic! Seeing the parks from Calder’s point of view and getting to witness his enchantment with the characters “sealed the deal” for me with Disney. I’m currently planning my 15th (and 16th ) trip to The World and have also enjoyed two trips to Disneyland.

I have a Master’s Degree in Design for the Theatre, but the need to pay my mortgage forced me into working for Corporate America for a decade as a Tech Writer and Customer Support guru. I am now a freelance writer and designer and have even had the opportunity to write scripts for some rip-roaring adventures created by my award-winning, ride designer husband, Bob.

I am an avid gardener, reader and self-confessed fabric-aholic. I’m also addicted to computers, PhotoShop, and office supplies – which explains why I have a hard-drive loaded with Disney clip art and a closet full of specialty papers with which to create the countdown calendars, event cards and custom t-shirts that I adore.

I have a deep and abiding love for Minnie Mouse and I revert to a little, 4-year-old girl whenever she’s around. Don’t believe me? Just refer to any of my trip reports to see the awful pictures my husband and friends have taken of me in Minnie’s presence. On second thought, don’t…. they’re embarrassing.
