RobDVC\'s Guide Bio

Hey there!

My name is Rob and I am happy that I am a guide for The Garage, The Sunroom, The Locker Room, Making More Magic and Getting There and Back. I have lived my entire life in Philadelphia, PA. I am 39 years old and have been married to my wife, Margaret, for 13 years. We are working parents with two boys, Joseph who is 11 and Nicholas who is 8.

I work as a computer programmer and love debugging problems and coming up with innovative processes and solutions.

Growing up, I remember sitting on the floor in front of the TV (but not too close) on Sunday nights and watching The Wonderful World Of Disney. I also recall going to see The Shaggy Dog, The Shaggy DA, Herbie the Love Bug and many other Walt Disney films at the movie theater. I caught the WDW bug late in life. My first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1991, when I was a month shy of my 23rd birthday. I've been back a few times since then. Other momentous trips include: In 1993, I went with DW for the first time while we were dating. In 1995, we went to Disneyland on the way back from our Hawaiian honeymoon. (It was the 40th anniversary celebration). In 1998, we were there for July Fourth week (during the wildfires). In 2004, we were there to celebrate Nicholas' 5th birthday, but had to leave a day early due to Hurricane Frances. We became Disney Vacation Club members while on that trip and are looking forward to many more trips to the Happiest Place on Earth. Our latest trip was in April 2007 during Easter week and we are planning an August 2008 2-week vacation.

I have quite a few other interests. I am a season-ticket holder for the Philadelphia Eagles, and I'm a huge NFL fan. I'm a big NASCAR fan, my favorite driver currently is Tony Stewart, and I go to the races annually at Dover and Pocono. I went to the very first night race at Daytona. I am a big Star Wars fan, and have a huge collection of memorabilia. I am the head coach of Joseph's baseball team and have fun teaching the kids the finer points of the game.

Having two boys also has given me an excuse to feed my videogame addiction. I've played video games ever since I was a boy when I received a Sears tele-games (Atari 2600) for Christmas. We currently play XBOX360, WII, XBOX, ps2 and GameCube. I'm also a gadget-geek, and am typically the first person my friends call whenever they have a computer problem or need help hooking up their new home theater.

I'm looking forward to helping out with any technical questions you might have here on the Passporter Boards.
