Decade of Dreams Walt Disney World Vacation - May 2-6, 2009
About This Page: This is a discussion on Decade of Dreams Walt Disney World Vacation - May 2-6, 2009 within the PassPorter's "Decade of Dreams" Tour Headquarters, part of the PassPorter Community - Message Boards and Forums; if you have changed the schedule - would you please put the new schedule here

My confirmation says it is a Fantasmic dessert party, not an Illuminations dessert party. I assumed if the Fantasmic date was moved then the Studios park day would move.... ... maybe?

As of now, the Fantasmic Dessert Party (it is Fantasmic, not Illuminations) on May 3rd which is a Sunday. Whether or not this changes is really up to Disney as it depends on their show schedule. I know it's frustrating, thank you all for your patience!!
OK but aside from the dessert party, are the designated park days still the ones posted on the tour schedule page? That's what I'm most concerned about because I have all my ADRs made around the park days schedule!
looks like that is the only day (Sunday, May 3) when Studios is open until 8:30pm - the other times they are closing at 7pm.
mk and studios are the ones that Disney has taken away hours when less people are there - but the schedules definitely look strange. When the MK is open most of those nights until 9pm? a several at 10pm.
if they are closing studios early because of less people - why not cut back on the MK hours - which is what they use to do?
guess they don't want to change it to an illiuinations desert - probably cost more.
You mean MAY 3 (Sunday), which you refer to in other parts of this discussion.
I can't believe I'm actually considering this trip, since I was just at WDW three weeks ago. But I've always wanted to meet some of the PP folks who have the best WDW books on the planet as well as sponsor this awesome discussion board. But I got a quote yesterday and am secretly contemplating it!
I know the lunch in Epcot costs $35 extra and that this event will occur on Sunday (May 3). Yes?
Does the Fantasmic! Dessert event cost extra as well? If so, how much? And I'm assuming that event will occur on Monday (May 4). Yes?
And are there any other extras I should include in my budget?
The prices quoted by Mouse Fan Travel Home Page are excellent for this trip -- I still can't believe I'm actually contemplating this, since my credit card bill for the mid-February trip hasn't been paid (but I know I'll pay it in full as soon as it arrives).
The reason I haven't come to previous December PP events at WDW is because I love my company (architectural firm) and our holiday party is always the second Saturday night of December, which is when PP tends to have its events in Florida. I'd really love to meet some of you and maybe make some WDW pals to meet up with on future trips. Plus, I have an elderly aunt and uncle who live in Orlando, and my favorite aunt in St. Louis would probably love to go visit them and would probably do so if I flew with her and made sure she got to their house OK. (See how I'm justifying this trip???)
I dread my DBF's face if I tell him I'm considering this the same year I'm saving money for Italy -- but I've got the money saved for that trip already, and life IS too short, right? I know he'd tell me I'm nuts but then follow it up with, "It's your money." Which it is, and I'm usually a careful saver and spender.

The cost of the Fantasmic! Dessert Party is included in the Mouse Fan Travel package. It's only available to those who book one of those packages with Mouse Fan.
Fantasmic! is now also on the 3rd (unless Disney changes the date again).
We're not planning any other extra-cost events. Now, we may end up with some meets that are group meals at regular restaurants, but those should fit within a typical food budget. You may want to budget something for contingencies, just in case someone comes up with a meet that you really want to do that may cost something extra (say, admission to DisneyQuest or one of the water parks if those aren't included in your regular park ticket).
