Decade of Dreams Travel Provider
PassPorter's Decade of Dreams Tour has a single travel agency: Mouse Fan Travel. Due to the way Disney handles and accommodates groups of our size, a single travel agency is necessary to provide the type and quality of special experiences we hope to offer during Decade of Dreams. By bringing together our bookings through one agency, we'll be better able to create a special, once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip for all involved.
For this reason, we consider PassPorter's Decade of Dreams Tour to be a "package event," with the travel arrangements of the package being provided by Mouse Fan Travel. To get the full benefit of the Decade of Dreams Tour, you'll want to stick with the package. We are offering exclusive events and benefits during the Decade of Dreams Tour that will only be available to those who book a package -- we're not doing this to intentionally exclude anyone at all, but rather because that's how Disney works group travel. So while you can book a cruise, a stay at Walt Disney World, or a visit to Disneyland during the same dates as the Decade of Dreams Tour, you wouldn't be able to attend all of our special events. It would be akin to booking the same hotel on the same day as an Adventures by Disney tour group. You'd be in the same place at the same time as the Adventures by Disney group travellers, but your opportunities to spend time together would be limited.
Q: Why aren't you using my favorite travel agency?
A: Our choice of agency for this event does not and should not reflect negatively on any other agency. It is not a judgment as to who is the "best," but of a necessary choice we made from among many worthy agencies for this one series of events. PassPorter has always had a policy of non-exclusivity regarding our relationships with travel agencies (and other service providers), and that will not be changing. In the future, we expect to do other group events with other travel agencies.
Q: Can I book with my favorite travel agency regardless?
A: If you want to specifically join us on the Decade of Dreams Tour, then no -- booking with another agency would not afford the same benefits in this particular case. If you simply want to be in the same vicinity as our group and don't mind not participating in all activities, then it's entirely up to you. We should note, however, that our intention with Decade of Dreams is to celebrate PassPorter with a group of like-minded travellers through which we can form a stronger connection than other group trips we've done up to this point. Making and strengthening bonds requires quality time together, and that will be much harder to do if our group is splintered. In the end, it is your decision, and we will respect it.
Q: So why would I want to do a group trip like this?
A: Group trips can really take your travels to a new level, adding a sense of belonging, shared experiences, and FUN to what would otherwise be a regular trip. During the test phase of PassPorter, we orchestrated a group trip to Walt Disney World for more than 30 of our colleagues -- we stayed in the same hotel, ate at most of the same places, and even toured the park together at times. It was a BLAST and one of our best-ever trips! We were all on the "same page," so to speak, and really bonded with one another which increased our appreciation of the trip. While we expect this group to be larger, we can still accomplish the same things by narrowing down hotel choices (this is why we chose just three Walt Disney World resort hotels for our package -- a value, a moderate, and a deluxe), by planning group meals (which you can count on us doing -- more details on this as we get closer), by planning meets where we go on a series of attractions together, by doing fun activities that bond us together (like treasure hunts), by sitting together at dinner on the cruise, and by partying together at special VIP events. If you've done MouseFest, the Decade of Dreams Tour is different. MouseFest is wonderful, but it's more of a "every person on their own" type event by it's very nature -- it brings people from different communities together and builds bridges. We hope PassPorter's Decade of Dreams Tour will be closer to an Adventures by Disney sort of experience -- a special, well-organized VIP trip -- with the exception being that you can choose how much time you want to hang with the rest of the group and thereby how much money you want to spend. We really think PassPorter's Decade of Dreams Tour will be a very unique experience, as we will design and plan many aspects of it together in the coming months. We want each person who is able to join us for a group trip to feel SPECIAL.
