So after a not-so-quick jaunt across the Manhatten bridge into Brooklyn (oh why did I let him drive?) we were finally turned around and heading the right way. By now, it's about 1 AM and we have a 2+ hour drive home. Oh well! It still couldn't dampen how much fun the evening was! (And next time we're taking the train, Christine!)
We might even go back soon and take advantage of the $20 coupons for The Little Mermaid!
ACK! I'm sorry you had such a rough time Lynn!
Sharon, Beth and I hopped on the subway which allowed us to catch the 11:14pm train to Trenton. We pulled in at 12:41pm and Beth was in her bed sleeping by 1:35am. She of course slept on the train and in the car as well!
I've been eying that Little Mermaid coupon as well! Drew Seeley is apparently about to begin playing the part of Prince Eric which is very appealing to Beth!
HUGE thanks to Jen and Dave... we had a wonderful time and Beth can't wait to go back to NYC!

I'm so glad you made it home safely! I didn't get home much earlier than you! Maybe I should have taken the train after all.
I have been looking at that little mermaid coupon!
I just checked the ticket prices out online w/ the coupon.
There is a date on the coupon of 6/21... this is not a purchase by date but a USE by date! ie.. you must go to see The Little Mermaid before 6/21.
I'm not sure we can swing that so close to our trip on Saturday. I'll have to talk it over w/ dh and see.
FWIW, tickets (orchestra) turn out to be $101plus change then they tack on $8 in fees and $2.50 to print them out. If you want them mailed to you it is more $$.

Thank you to all who joined us for this evening! We had a great time and we were so happy you could all be there. My only regret is not having more time to chat with each of you -- it was all a little crazy, especially after the show let out.

Thanks Jennifer and Dave for a great evening, as well as the great lanyards and goodies. It is what makes this board and Passporters so special!!! The service at dinner was a bit uneven, but I still had a great time and the show was wonderful and beyond my expectations. I would of hung around after the show let out, but had to catch the train home. It was a long day, being in NYC since 10am. Sorry to here about your unplanned adventure home Lynn.
Hopefully, there will be more PassPorter events to take part in the future after the DOD celebration is over.
Thanks for the info Christine regarding the Little Mermaid tix. There's always a catch and the costs seem to add up.
I'm also glad that you were able to make the trip Sheri. It was so much fun with you and Jeff.

Well I'm guessing dh feels bad for me a little bit that we don't have a WDW trip planned for the near future (maybe a cruise in 2010 or 2011???) so he told me to go ahead and get tix for The Little Mermaid.

I have been thinking about going to the show.. I have so much going on over the next few months... I don't know if DH will be as understanding as yours! LOL!
You should go on the 4 day ... Oct 17, 2010- Thats when we are cruising
It was great meeting you the other day.. BTW-I have a really cute pic of all the girls @ ESPN.
We had a wonderful time Saturday evening. Thank you Jennifer and Dave for everything!
Dinner was fun, if a bit hectic at times.
Mary Poppins was wonderful! And Paul and I loved looking around the theater. We are fascinated by historical buildings, especially the really ornate, over-the-top places, like old theaters. If anyone is interested there is an interesting book about the theater, it's history and the restoration that Disney did when they bought it. "The New Amsterdam: The Biography of a Broadway Theater" by Mary Henderson. (Hey, I'm a librarian, I push books/information any time I can )
We decided to splurge and spend the night in the city, so we stayed at the Millennium Broadway so that we could see another show on Sunday afternoon. Great idea, huh? Well, how was I to know that the Millennium Broadway was next door to the Bellasco Theater - the site of "date night". People massed at the 44th and Broadway, hoping for a glimpse of the President - no problem - according to a policeman on Broadway all we had to do was get to the front of the mass of people and show our hotel keys to the police there. I think the best description is "Running the gauntlet" is probably easier. But we did get through. People were calm and nice, but really squashed in there tightly.
On Sunday we saw Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit starring Angela Lansbury. It was in another wonderful old ornate theater, The Schubert on 44th. The play was wonderful, but then we are fans of Noel Coward. Angela Lansbury is really have a good time playing the over the top spiritualist, Madame Arcati.
Again thank you for putting together this gathering!
