My only allergy is to keep away from WDW. But that never happens.

well have a long list of allergies - but don't worry will ask the fs (CM) who are there.
Is this the best thing to do or should we try to contact someone in advance? I found out after I booked this that DS has Celiac's and now we're really limited with what he can eat (no wheat/milk products). We have it noted on our other ADRs, but I know that this is not a "stardard" meal.

that is fairly common at Disney - heard lots of people say it.
you will need to talk to the chef - who prepared the food - and ask him exactly what you DS can eat. If nothing - the chef will fix him something.
my big allergy is pepper - also rye, oats, most vegetable, shell fish and all other fish - except the white fish (flounder, white fish, etc). Now not surpose to eat pork - but still do at Disney (bacon only).
tried to get her for mind - and she say pepper - don't have any information on that one.
what she should do for you - is send your information (pamplets - i think) with what the food contains - it is even to surpose to have counter (quick) service.
that say know heard discussions about your DS problem - so you should not have any problems getting him something he can eat.
so far I am the only one know of with an allergic reaction to pepper - and it is not nice - acts like food posion - but know it is an allergy.
so when get there just ask to speak to the chef. believe me Disney does not want your kid to get sick at WDW and will do everything in their power to prevent it from happening.
just call Brenda for your peace of mind. You can add his allergies when you made ADR too.
for me try not to eat many meals out. in addition to CR - have a villa (for the entire week) which will go to for meals probably.
so would be happy to share if necessary - but it won't be your problems are fairly common for Disney. (this is only costing me $110 for the entire week - got a sale from RCI)
It's amazing how accommodating Disney is to their guests. Most resorts or restaurants do not go this much out of the way for them. And when they do, their choices are usually limited. Another reason to love WDW. Just glad I don't have any food allergies. I guess I'm pretty fortunate.

Thanks! I did get the paperwork from Brenda and I added the private meal to it so that they had a heads up for it.
We also have a villa for the same reason - so that I can make whatever meals that I need to for my son. DVC is a great thing for this reason!
yea love DVC too.
June is my use year - can do a day or two with DVC - but would rather not do the entire time. besides wanted to participate in the party can't stay at the CR on cash and use points too.
I should note that catered events have some different rules regarding accommodating dietary requirements than the regular Disney restaurants. This is what Disney says about it for this catered event:
"For individuals in your group with food allergies, they must use their own discretion on which food items to consume, as we cannot guarantee that allergens were not introduced during another stage of production, including ours."
That's the way most of these things go. Whether it's Disney or a wedding. It's sort of tough to stray away from their set menu. Usually, there are enough choices to satisfy all.

Actually, I am 100% pleased with how Disney has handled this. I added the meal to my allergy sheet before I sent it in via email. I got a call today and they went over the existing menu with me and said that it wouldn't suit my son and they're preparing him a special plate. They were incredibly kind and made some great recommendations for making the best of our trip.
FYI, the corn on the cob is cooked with milk - who knew?

If you have special requests, it's always best to plan far ahead to give them extra time to prepare this. It works best. You can't expect to walk into a restaurant and do this. They may be able to acccomodate you, but choices would probably be limited, if you didn't plan ahead.
Good going on your part!
