Name Notes:
The meet names are based on our Big Band/Swing theme. Some are a little goofy, but it's just for fun! Feel free to chime in with new name suggestions, especially for events not being hosted by me -- you can come up with your own names if you wish.
Quests:
The four quests -- one on each day at each of the four parks -- are casual "hang with us" events with a twist. We'll all meet at a designed spot, usually a place where you can sit and chat for a bit if you arrive early (highly recommended). Then we'll hand out a special quest sheet which has fill-in-the-blank questions about things we expect you can find the answers to as we ride rides and see shows together. So this would be answers to trivia questions, Hidden Mickey locations, and treasure hunt-style questions. Doing the quest sheets is totally optional -- you can just hang with us if you prefer. For those that fill in the quest sheets, we will award a prize to the person with the most correct answers at the end of each daily quest, and there'll be a big prize for the person with the most cumulative points by the end of the trip (awarded at the quest on Tuesday)! The main focus of our quests will be spending time together while we take in the attractions, but we thought this would add a little fun. Of course, you're welcome to just pick up the quest sheet and look for the answers yourselves, but it'll be more fun to hang out together ... and you might pick up hints along the way, too.
Meet Buttons:
I will have buttons for most of the meets on this schedule (all the ones I can make it to), and everyone that attends gets one (well, at least while the supplies I make for each one last). Collect as many different meet buttons as you can and the person with the most unique meet buttons at the end of the trip will win a prize! Be at the last quest (the one on Tuesday) if you want to be counted!
More Meets:
If I missed something that was suggested elsewhere, please let me know. I won't print the schedules until Wednesday, April 22, so consider that the deadline.

My reaction to all this? I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!! It all sounds like great fun to me, and I'll try to participate in as many of your events as possible. I am SO THERE!!!!!!! Thanks, Jennifer!
Jennifer,
All of this sounds so great and exciting, I can't wait for the festivities to begin. This is going to be a lot of fun.
You mentioned going to the lounge at the Contemporary on the first night after Wishes. I think a lot of us plan on doing the "Drinks On The Monorail". Might be a better alternative since you questioned, whether the lounges were open that late.
Another suggestion would be on either Monday or Tuesday May 4 or 5 to have a possible Illuminations meet. Even better would be to somehow obtain VIP seating (standing) for this. At which location in the WS to have this, there are many choices. Everyone has their favorites. I particularly like two locales being between Morocco and France and at Italy as well. If we could get the VIP seating maybe over in Italy we could head to one of the stands and have glasses of Prosecco for Illuminations. That would cap off a good night. Then afterwards we could go to one of the resorts either AS or POR. Just my two cents!

Looks great, Jennifer! I love that there'll be a lunch meet at Flame Tree BBQ Hubby and I will SO be there. Also, we'll be at the Birhtday Lunch as well as most of the quests.
Jennifer, could you maybe give us some more information on the quests? Like, which attractions you're planning to go on, how much walking will be involved, if we'll have to get FP'ses, that kind of stuff? That'd be really great, thanks.
If we had all the answers for those questions it wouldn't be much of a quest.
Seriously, these will follow our normal practices for our treasure hunts. We skip attractions with height restrictions (which means most "extreme" rides are out) so that families with young kids can participate. We don't do "whole park" hunts, because those can involve a lot of walking. Generally, we limit ourselves to one or two lands, so the walking is hardly extreme. Many items on the quest will NOT be on attractions at all, because there's a lot to find outside attractions, and we don't want folks to be spending all their time on queues. As to which attractions... Even if we knew (that is, that we've managed to design each item in the quest at this early date), what's the fun in telling? The idea is to have a good time together. We're not likely to choose attractions that everyone hates. Now, we might have some attractions that wouldn't have been on your personal touring plan (especially if you're usually focused on mountains and towers), but we trust folks are willing to accept that in order to be part of the fun. If you'll need a FP, everyone will learn about it at the same time, so nobody has an advantage.
Fair enough?

Thanks for posting, Dave. I'm just a little concerned about the amount of standing in line that'll be involved (I've got back problems). I guess I can always leave early if it's getting too much, right?

Hey, I've got problems with my right foot and will no doubt have to sit down and/or stretch every so often -- so I'll be happy to "sit out" with you occasionally. You can't miss me -- if I'm without my Goofy pirate hat, you'll see a 54-year-old brunette wearing shorts with some big orthopedic shoes -- that's me! Let's all be willing to admit when we've had enough, and then not worry about it.
I'm an early riser, but will almost certainly not be able to "drink around the monorail" past 11:00 p.m. (or maybe even past 10:00 p.m.) -- but I make no apologies! We're going to Disney!
add me to the napping group...ha ha ha...i am wondering how i will have time to fit my napping in with all the fun and meeting new friends! dang i am excited!
