Help - How Young is Too Young?

Okay sorry if this gets long.
My Aunt & cousins live in Florida about an hour from WDW so while DD and I are there next week they are going to meet us for a day.....I'm really exicted about this I haven't seen them in a while but that's another story...so last night I get an email from my aunt who is "exhausted just looking at our schedule" She thinks the best day for them to meet us would be Monday at TL. They feel the boys are too young for Disney. So my cousins boys are 1 1/2 and 3, I say come Sunday while we are at MK and we can spend the big part of the day in Fantsy Land. DD who is 8 still has a ton of things she wants to do in Fantsy Land and this will be our second MK day so the first day we would just not visit Fantsy Land at all. I really think they would have a much better time at MK than at a waterpark plus we are planning on going to MGM around 3 and won't have that much time to visit with them. I have an ADR for Mama Melrose's plus Fantasmia which I won't give up and so far have had no success in pushing the time back.
My aunt said she would be out of town until tomorrow night, so I emailed her back saying what I said above and letting her know I'd call tomorrow PM. So....I need some good ideas/arguments to convince them that MK would be much more fun for everyone. I'm not trying to force the issue, and really if they are dead set agaist it no problem, but I just don't think TL would be much fun for the little one's, and because of our ADR we wouldn't have much time to visit. (They plan on arriving around 10:30am.) I hate to say our schedule is set in stone, but with all the ADR's and the hours I spent to get this just right, it really is.
So, who has some good ideas??

I hear that too young argument all the time & I say to young to what? To have fun at WDW? Any child who is aware of what's going on is not too young for any of the parks. There are things for them to enjoy everywhere. What about toontown? If they know who Mickey & Minnie are they will love toontown. And there is that new playground type area in Fantasyland, that is made just for toddlers & preschoolers. I haven't been to TL but I imagine there is a kiddie area that they will enjoy, but I am certain there is more for them to enjoy at MK. Not much of anything in Fantasyland is too old for them. Your aunt is probably thinking that keeping two little ones happy all day with all that stimulation will be too difficult, so perhaps that is the problem you should address. I don't know about your daughter, but even before mine was that age she was a huge help with the littler ones in my family. I hope you can convince her, I think her sons will enjoy themselves more if you do. Good luck!

We took Alexander at 4 months and he loved the fireworks. Each trip has brought new experiences and stimulation for him.

We started bringing the kids when DS was 15 months and DD was 4. I agree with you, I think they might be too young for a waterpark (we haven't made it to one yet and they are 5 and almost 8 now). I'd spend your time in MK as I think they'll have a better time there

DS4 is going on his 3rd trip to WDW in September, and that is all he can talk about. DS9 has already been 4 times. They have loved WDW from the very beginning. I agree that TL will not be nearly as entertaining for them. At the MK, between Fantasyland and Mickey's Toontown, there will be plenty to keep everyone occupied. I would get out your Passporter and make a list of all of the fun things there are to do for your aunt.

Good luck convincing her!

I definitely can't see choosing TL over MK. We will be taking DS this summer (at 22 months old) and certainly are not planning on doing the waterparks. MK just offers SO much more for little ones!

My kids have all been to WDW from infancy. None of them ever had a problem related to being too young, but we never took them to a waterpark at that age either. I'd stick with the MK, that way you'll know there will be things for everyone to enjoy. There just isn't that much at TL to occupy a 1 1/2 and 3yo for any length of time, plus I always have a harder time keeping track of little ones at water parks because they're not in strollers, etc. They tend to try to run off more frequently, so that is nervewracking.

I agree about the boys being too little for TL. I absolutely think they would have a much better time at MK/Fantasyland.

Our oldest was 10 for her first trip, but our youngest two were each 2 and they had a blast! Our 8 year old remembered a lot of it for a long time, and the baby is ready for her next trip next year! She's like a veteran, telling us what she wants to do next time! (And what she doesn't....ghosts too 'pooky!)
Any age is a great age! We've been taking all of them to Disneyland since they were infants and there was always something magical to be found at every age. Half the fun is watching how their favorites change over the years...

My kids are going to be 5 and 7 this time around, and we aren't doing the water parks at all. Fantasyland is sooo awesome, especially through a little ones eyes!

My DD was 6 months on her first trip. She was so amazed by all the colors, loved all the characters that it converted me then and there to a Disney lover. And you see how seriously obsessive I have been since then!!!

--Try these....
1. Mention how you'd like to spend as much time as possible with them
2. How you & your DD will be a big help with the little ones (maybe a concern)
3. So many things to see & do they will be totally amazed (lots of younger ones go)
4. Water parks are more Difficult with little ones (NOT in stroller)
5. Really more relaxing (break anytime)Parade, fireworks, indoor shows, train ride..water parks you're constantly on edge with little ones!
6. Maybe we could start a family tradition! Wonderful, Magical memories for the cousins..& US!
7. She will be surprised how much fun she'll have as well as the boys
8. I'll buy you as many Mickey Bars are you wish! Turkey Legs too!

Hope these help!
One thought....could it be a financial concern? I think the boys are free at their ages...she & hubby must buy tickets.
Good Luck!

I don't see TL being nearly as fun for them as the Magic Kingdom...unless the 1.5 and 3 year old are big swimmers...

I can't imagine anything sweeter than a 3 year old meeting characters in Fantasyland.
