Should we pack one or two so that we can have some instant shade? We're going in June, and - save for one of us - we are all coming from Alaska.... would an umbrella/parasal be a good idea for us to pack?
rain we're not worried about, the water is so warm down there! but added protection from the heat in any form will help... but I'm wondering if it would just be added bulk that would do little or no good.
We always carry those compact umbrellas into the parks with us, but I've never thought to use them to shade us from the sun! That's a great idea!! We got our umbrella's for about $8 each at our local Wal-Mart.
Our last trip was over July 4, and I took my folding Eeyore umbrella. It folds small enough to fit in my backpack. While we never used it for the rain, it came in very handy to shade us while we were sitting on the curb waiting for the afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom! I think that was the only time I bothered pulling it out, since I knew we'd be sitting still for quite some time. The rest of the time we were on the go, and I didn't feel the need to use it.
Myself I wouldnt want to be carrying an umbrella around open with all the people especially in June a hat with a brim to shade your eyes and good pair of sunglasses I would take. To easy for someone to get hurt with an umbrella. Only my own opinion though.

Love the Magic of Disney Thanks Dad for our first 5 trips.
You know, that's a good idea! I brought mine down the last time and kept it in my backpack and it did come in handy a few times! Always to be safe than sorry I say!
