I'm headed to my first MouseFest this December. I, like so many others, love to plan, plan, plan. Here is what I've done so far.....
Purchased my AP check
Booked room with room requests with my travel agent check
Purchased airline tickets checkBooked and paid for a specialty tour check
Purchased MVMCP ticket check
Made a list of new rides to experience check
Made a list of Holiday must-see and do check
Made a spreadsheet of what to do each day based on last years events and park days. check
Checked our TouringPlans.com check
Got an idea (as best as I can this early) of where I want to eat check
What else can I plan or check into? Do I really need to make my ADR's 180 days out? I know one to two meets will be sit-down meals but other than those should I skip planning any others. Will I have time for other sit-down meals with all of the meets or should I plan on eating on the fly? Tips from other MouseFesters would be much appreciated. I'm probably over-obsessing. Is that possible here?

You COULD consider planning and hosting an event with a friend(s). (I know, I'm shameless in my efforts to make PassPorter's MouseFest contributions memorable. And to rouse some interest in our community's events!) Some event hosts even make little souvenir goodies to hand out to event participants. Planning and making something fun and memorable to share with new friends would be my idea of some fun planning. Some of the goodies that I know of in advance: handmade ornaments, participant buttons, and one year, I think someone made little planes out of sticks of chewing gum to hand out. (Was that for a Goofy's Barnstormer meet? My memory is not what it once was, but I think debe is the one who did the little planes a few years ago.)
Although we didn't plan it this way, we are also going to be at WDW during MouseFest. However w/ two small kids (they will be 6yo and 2yo), I'm not sure how many events we will be able to attend.
I don't have as much planned as you. We have MVMCP tix for 12/4 (not the same night as the meet up, but it's ds' 2nd bday) and reservations made for 12/1-12/9. But past that I haven't done much since I'm waiting patiently for my Deluxe Passporter to arrive. I ordered it this past Monday.
I do have a list of all the Character Meals off of allears and we are identifying which ones we are definites and which we aren't interested in... but not much past that.
I would love to help out w/ an event but I haven't been to the parks much recently so I'm out of ideas at the moment. I suggested a kid's scavenger hunt in one of the threads, but I don't feel qualified to come up w/ questions/clues on my own.
There are some kids events in the works. We heard your suggestion and we do take every suggestion under consideration. Keep an eye on The Backyard for more details in the coming weeks about events for families. I had an idea about a coloring contest for all ages, but we're still trying to figure out the logistics of crayons + backpack + Florida heat.
