Help! I feel so behind....

I have not yet my ADR's for anything for my trip in October. Why? Two things: 1. Still waiting on extended family to figure out what they are doing. I'm ready to just make reservations at a high number and call back if they end up not going.... and 2. In order to do ADR's I'm trying to figure out my park schedule and I'm wondering, do I try to work the schedule following EMH? Is it worth it or should I just plan around which park we want to do first, etc? I've seen where some have avoided them due to those days being crazier. We didn't do them in 10/05 when we went and wondered if it would've been worth it to take advantage of that perk?
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

First of all, I would make your ADR's for everyone, assuming that the rest of your family will come. This way you'll get first pick of the restuarants that you want to eat at...and you can always make changes later As far as the EMH's go...well...the last time that we went I made the ADR's for the restuarants at the parks that we planned on going to that particular day. If evening EMH's fell on one of those nights at a different park...then we would just hop over.
Well...I hope that I was able to help and not confuse you even more. Good luck with everything and I hope that the rest of your family comes through for you!

I'm with Mickey 0823 about making ADRs for the whole group and then cutting it down if you need to.

I planned around EMH and it worked out great! I also did it for my upcoming trip.

I agree-Go ahead and make the ADR's and then call back and cut down if you need to. I planned an anniversary trip last September for my inlaws. It was 7 of us and being the disney freak that I am I had it all planned out and just gave them a copy of the itinerary. They all loved that I just went ahead and did everything! You could always go for the EMH in the morning then leave and hop to another park in the evening. That is what we do!

We like to take atvantage of the EMH's, but don't necessarily stay in those parks all day. If you're getting hoppers, then don't stress about where you're going to be so much

I agree with the ADR thing. We are going in October and I am waiting on my sister and her boyfriend to decide if they are doming or not. I made the reservations for 8. That way if they decide to come great!. If they decide not to come, I'll know far enough ahead to change my reservations to 6.

When I made my schedule for October I went by what parks we wanted to see first. It just happened that some of the EMH days are the same.

Happy Planning!

I planned my schedule by figuring out which days would be the lowest projected attendance parks for each day I was there. Then, I planned my ADR's accordingly. Make the ADR's! Too many people are reporting seeing guests being turned away that don't have ADR's scheduled. It would be such a bummer if you had to eat CS at every meal. From your countdown, I think we will be there around the same time!

I hope your family decides what they are doing soon!

Since I don't get park hoppers (although I'm seriously thinking about it reading some great trip reports) I usually plan the parks then plan the eatting. For our Oct. trip my sister "might" join us, so I just made all the ADR's for 3 and will change them if I need to, that way I know it is all set at least. Our last trip I planned the days around EMH's and it seemed to work for us, but this trip since we only have 4 park days, and are going to MNSSHP we just planned the parks around where we wanted to eat...a little backwards but hey that's what I love about Disney they are Magic Your Way Passes...so I did it my way all the way
