I would love to go to Disney again this year, especially since I didn't get to do/see everything I wanted to last week. I was thinking of doing the Food & Wine Festival, but I don't think it would be worth it to me, since I wouldn't be able to eat the food.
So, how do y'all think Dec. 2-7 would be as far as crowds go? If I made the plans now, I'd even be able to do the whole wake up early on the 180th day to call for CRT thing!
Also, AllEarsNet said there would be PopWarner SuperBowl incl. cheerleaders sometime in December, but the dates are TBA. Does anybody know whenabouts in Dec. that would be, like a prediction based on previous years?
We went December 1 - 10, 2005 and the crowds were very manageable. The weather was iffy - winter coats at MVMCP, but shorts and swimming two days later. We really enjoyed that time of year!
We always go the first 2 weeks in December the crowds are manageable but some events were very crowed the Tree lighting in Epcot was so crowed no one could walk thru until it was over I saw many people trying to fight there way thru only to have to turn around and go back but for the most part it was great the ride lines went good but we always get fast passes for the popular ones. Weather wise it changes from year to year, last year very cool we wore sweatshirts or jackets most days, year before we had a few hot days and got in some swimming
Now for booking this December, I am a DVC member and I have been reading how hard people are having to find a resort for ressies during this time lots of them are on waiting list, so just keep in mind this is a popular time for DVC members to go!! Happy planning
We have been several times the first weekend in Dec. They film the Christmas parade at the MK that weekend and it becomes a ZOO esp on Sat. It's fun to go and see how they produce it, but you are walking all over people. Last year we were there on Friday (which was not crowded at all) and saw a lot of the musical productions being filmed outside the castle (High school musical singers, Michael Bolton?) It is also the only time you can see the entire Christmas parade w/o going to MVMCP. They film all over WDW so you may see some celebrities at other parks.
Last year, we had great weather the entire weekend. Low to mid 80s. But you never know and you could be wearing winter jackets in a few days. I'll be going again this year as DH has a scenario paintball game in Ocala.
Having been at WDW 3 times over several years during that weekend, it has always been the first Saturday of Dec . That is Dec 1, 2007 this year. They do film all weekend, but because they run the entire Christmas Parade in the afternoon on Sat. the MK gets very crowded. There were many parents with children dressed for the holidays (hoping to get on camera). I was there with DH one year at 3:00 and you couldn't move in Tomorrowland. We quickly left the park and saw a ton of people around Regis and Kelly who were filming their commentary (By Caseys). Last year, Friday wasn't bad at all and you got to see some of the filming. And if you wanted, stop and be in the audience in front of the castle and perhaps be filmed for the Christmas special.
As for waits for that Friday last year, Philarmagic was a walk-on. So was Splash. BTMRR was 1/2 hour and we FP Space MT. Buzz was a walk on. We did not do Peter Pan as it was almost 1 hour. Pirates was little to no wait. Tea cups were about 20 minutes. Last year we went to AK on Sat.
Great... We are arriving on 12/1 and I wanted to make a quick afternoon trip to MK to hit Fantasyland for a bit before dinner at Chef Mickey's. Now I have to see if we should change our planes
So, are ppl there on Dec. 1st at the end of their trip? Or the beginning? 'Cause, if we went, we'd be getting there on the 2nd (would prob'ly just do EMH that night for that day) and stay 'til the 7th or 8th.
I'm not looking to go to any special events, just the four main parks and the resort.
I liked the crowds we just had at the beginning of last week.
we are arriving at the world on november 29th and we are their till dec 11th we are staying at pop and I have heard that alot of the hotels at the world are booked solid. pop warner football will be at the world during this time frame.

Well, according to the WDW Web site, I'd be able to get the kind of room I want at the resort I want for the dates I am thinking of. (It is a moderate.)
But, the real question is, would the crowds be huge because of all the kids? Or would they be so busy with their football that they wouldn't be in the parks most of the day?
When we were there December 1- 10, 2005, we really didn't notice any of the kids in the parks. I don't know what "normal" would be, but we found the crowds VERY manageable.
